Mini Vacuum Base Vise Portable with 360°Swiveling Head and Powerful Suction Multi-Angle Pivoting Small Vice
D**.
Light usage only
Like most Chinese products the details need attention, the fit of the parts are rough. Out of the box the swiveling movement is rough and the jaw heads are out of alignment (pretty bad actually). The good thing is these can be fixed and once a little effort is put into it It is an amazing little vise for the dollar. The suction base holds very firmly to my resin coated desk top and have had it attached for over 24 hours and still holding strong. I did however spray some Windex before attaching. I also had to apply my weight down while using the suction lever to get it to attach. The suction lever needs to travel 180 degrees for it to hold but at 90 degrees it seems to stop but you need to force it past to get it to attach, I think this is why some are saying it doesn't hold at all. Once it is attached there is hardly any movement of the vise. It is rock solid.I took it apart and filed the rough casting of the ball joint rounder that alone made the swiveling action 100% better. The Jaws need more work after some more filing where the jaws screw onto the vice head and some small shims I was able to align the jaws so they are parallel to each other when closed. If you are using the supplied rubber covers there is no reason to do this.I can't be more happy but if you want something that is out of the box ready to use you and you want a finer working product don't get this.

Absolute junk - Could not return this fast enough!
I had this vice for about 20 minutes before I initiated a return. It looks like it has clearly been opened/used and prior returned (maybe returned multiple times?). The box looks 20 years old and has clearly been opened, closed, dropped, kicked, run over, repackaged, and looks like it has seen every kind of possible abuse. The vice inside was equally as poor of a design and quality. Scratches all over the finish and body. The jaws do not align and are not close to being square with each other. The tolerances on the vice are so poor that the turning mechanism binds and is very difficult to move. The bar used the tighten the vice's orbit was bent. And last but not least the suction would only hold for about 30 seconds before it would release. I was testing on a clean smooth solid formica workbench and if this wasn't going to stick there it would not stick anywhere. For $20 I was not expecting anything other than a light duty hobby vice, but this is so poor it is utterly unusable for anything. Thanks Amazon for the easy return!

Perfect for doing odd electronic Soldering
I am giving this 5 stars but I am not rating it based upon the suction base .... I have never had much luck with suction mounting.I hit all the sliding and twisting parts with 3in1 oil before I even attempted to use it in the field. The base is heavy enough and the jaws articulate enough to be perfect for my purpose. which is to hold various electronics while I use two hands to "Solder" (one hand holds the iron and the other the solder or the wick)The rubber base perfectly protects the tables I am working on. Solder is generally not hot enough to damage the desktop surface but a heavy block of a vise usually is so the rubber base is perfect for my needs

Money wasted
I used this vise frequently over the past 6 months. At first it seemed to suit my light duty purposes however I found the suction "sucks" and would not hold for more than a few minutes, even on a glass surface. After using a bit of oil on the suction base the hold was good for a few more (5-6) minutes. This, of course, meant that I could not use much force because the vise would move.I decided to mount the vise permanently with bolts through holes I drilled in the vise base. Then, the swivel became difficult to use and the jaws kept loosening. Ultimately the swivel broke. My final comment, JUNK.

Great value for a inexpensive suction vise
It's well-made, bigger than you'd expect, and has very good suction mounting force. Was expecting a piece of junk at this price point, but was pleasantly surprised. Even if you don't use the suction mount, it's heavy enough by itself to hold lightweight objects for painting or soldering.

Thumbs down
At the moment I'm NOT pleased at all. I tried it on my computer desk and it didn't stick well at all. I tried it at the kitchen counter and it worked better BUT I do my work at the desk or in the garage on my bench. I haven't tried it on a wooed surface yet but I will after It warm s up and I'm out there more. If I need a swivel mount I might just mount it on a piece of wood and take it out when I need it.

Solid and stable.
I used this for a project where I needed a "second pair of hands". The Ball joint moves easily when loose, but it is solidly immobile when you tighten it down. The clamp is very strong and stays clamped after you tighten it down. I'm satisfied with this purchase. If I was going to use it every day I might have looked for something higher end, But for occasional projects this is good enough.

Weak suction
Suction isn't very powerful and frequently just stops working. It's okay for small items if you don't need a good grip, but won't work for larger or heavier stuff.Pros:-good paperweight-better than nothingCons:- weak suction- doesn't stay attached- poor quality- shabby craftsmanship
