I’ve done quite a few grout jobs over the years, and they’ve all looked pretty good. Though I’ve never felt very good about them, as I was never confident in the grout I used. I knew it would discolor and crack, be impossible to properly clean, and it just wouldn’t last for very long. I finally decided to try yet another brand and picked Red Devil. The first thing I said out loud when I opened the container was, “This stuff is too thin, it’s going to run down the wall, and it can’t possibly hold it’s shape!”. It looked too light and fluffy and reminded me more of a dessert topping. So I scooped up a dollop with a spoon and was surprised that it had enough body to perfectly hold it’s shape. I filled a large, heavy duty pastry bag (I also like to decorate cakes) and started working. I find it’s much neater, easier, and more accurate to apply a it this way. I shape it using a narrow, knife-like rubber spatula with a rounded tip, and it’s worked better for me than anything else I’ve tried. I’ve tried A LOT of grouting tools. This grout wasn’t just easy to work with, it was really fun. It reminded me of buttercream frosting. It was very manageable and easy to apply and clean up. Also, this grout doesn’t have a lot of sand it and doesn’t remind of lightweight cement. This grout appears to contain very fine silica and not too much of it. I also think it might contain epoxy, as looks much smoother, more durable, cleaner, and requires 48 hours to cure. This is by far the best looking grout job I’ve ever done, by extremely far. It was easy to use, easy to clean up, and it looks beautiful. This is the first time I’ve ever believed a grout job will last for many years. I can’t recommend this grout more. If you have any grouting to do, you’re making a huge mistake if you don’t try this brand. Maybe do what I did and start with a half pint just to check it out. If you’re familiar with grout, you’ll see a major difference in this brand right away. I find it hard to believe you won’t end up with a far superior job using this brand. I love it so much, I’m now regrouting my floor tiles. I couldn’t be happier Red Devil grout or recommend it more highly. I’ll never buy any other brand of grout again. Can you sense how serious I am?

Yep, my home is older and both bathrooms, thankfully solid white grout, needed some missing pieces filled in. Fast. Easy. worked perfectly. Now when any of my grout starts showing some cracking, I put it open, push it in, wipe it with a finger then sponge. So easy.

This one is awesome. In future project definitely my choice.

So this isn't really black. It's a dark navy blue. It dries super fast, like in a couple minutes. It's best to do a few tiles at a time and start from the bottom and go up if you're doing a wall. When it starts to dry, rub it everywhere with a wet sponge. It will remove the drying grout on the tile surface and make the grout lines thinner but won't remove them. You'll want to keep washing it with water and wiping it dry until the lines are no longer feathered and the tile faces are clean. It's hard to spread because it dries so fast. It dried while I was spreading it and I had to keep wetting it.

Run away from this stuff...Voids, cracks, holes.... no matter how much you push in each grout line it just cracks, I think they mix it too thin, way to liquidy, very hard to work on a back splash it drips down the tile instantly, you are constantly lifting it. Do not purchase, my back splash looks like crap now, I will be calling a professional to come in to cut out this crap and isntall good stuff, im over it!!!

Have lots of clean water handy to clean the tiles. Black is the messiest of grouts. I use this unsanded grout to fill the small gaps when I glue the tiles right next to each other. This grout dries quickly...so start wiping excess residue after every 3 or 4 tiles [12x12. ] You will have to repeat the cleaning several times.I love being able to use this unsanded grout right out of the tub. I grouted 16 of the 12x12 tiles using less than 2 ounces of grout. I'm glad to have found this on amazon as it was not available at my local Home Depot, Lowes, Menards or WalMart. You may want to wear gloves as it will stain your hands.
