On Living Simply: The Golden Voice of John Chrysostom

This little gem is one of my favorite books, containing as it does some of St. John's most meaningful teachings, especially regarding the poor. Considering that a new copy is going for around $5.00, I would encourage everyone to consider purchasing a copy. This is a real treasure.

I have book marked and highlighted several of my favorite quotes. The content focus' mainly on wealth and how to enjoy wealth properly. I deeply enjoy and treasure the daily reminders provided in this quaint little book. It is a perfect fit to augment and enhance any morning routine. Whether you are a high powered and motivated individual searching for an addition to your morning routine or you are simply looking for wisdom. On Simply Living is the right fit for you.

I could honestly eat up anything about Saint John Chrysostom like candy. Definitely something I'll be reading again.

Sooner or later, you will come across a passage, that will speak directly to you, cherish it.

Very helpful book for daily living

It is amazing how St. John Chrysostom wrote this so very long ago, and yet these are messages that are timeless (and most beautifully written). This would make a lovely gift!

Divine wisdom by Saint John Chrysostom. Simply wonderful.

It won't take long to read through the excerpts of Chrysostom's homilies in this book. It is remarkable how applicable his words are to the present day, seeing as he reposed more than 1500 years ago. He truly showed the world the riches of poverty.

Never having read anything by John Chrysostom but following excellent reviews on amazon.com, I thought this inexpensive book would be worth a try - and indeed they are the most wonderful selections of religious writing. These examples of John Chrysostom's works have the almost unique ability to voice simple truths with a clarity, perception, and beauty only rivalled by the Gospels. They are unforgettable.
