This mount has definitely held up to some abuse offroad. It has been drug throught trees and brush and still remained solidly mounted. It is solidly built and worth every single penny I paid for it to give me the piece of mind knowing that my jack isn't going to fly off going down the road. The jack is held in place with two heavy duty bolts that secure it for any on/off road adventures while also making it more inconvenient for someone to try and steal.

Deffinately buy it again.
Great, not hard to install. Tough too. I have two locks on my jack to make sure no kids steal it. If someone wants that jack they will have to work very hard to get it.

It took me a few different attempts at trying to find the perfect position to mount the brackets for this but I finally got it and I think it looks really nice. I bought a lock to lock my jack as suggested, but I couldn't get it to fit past the jack bar. I just need to buy a larger width lock. In the end I ended up spacing the mounting hardware about 30 inches apart. If you look closely at the picture you can see the bolts that go through the jack that secures it to the mount. I liked this positioning. The hardware for this mount is pretty robust and I do not think I will ever have to worry about it breaking. I am a little skeptical of the mounting "pads" that are included. Its just a couple of paper stickers that go over the mounting surface between the jack and the mount. I think it could be a little better for vibration resistance. something like a foam pad or something.

Yakima Hi-Lift Jack Carrier
After spending several hours considering other options, I bought the Yakima Hi-Lift Jack Carrier. The Hi-Lift Jack is quite heavy for it's size and this carrier provides the peace of mind of knowing it is properly attached. At first I thought the price was expensive for something as mundane as a jack carrier, then I recognized the weight and danger of what it was securing. Very likely, the only bolts on your vehicle bigger than what this carrier uses, are the ones holding your engine to the frame.

okay after making modifications
I got this to carry my high lift Jack, and before I even got it installed I found some problems :the weld between the brace and the Screw tub was poor - so bad it stopped me from using the bolts - I will have to replace the assembly to even attach the unit properly. To secure and remove the Jack will require me to use a wrench - not a huge problem as I normally carry one with me, but the system would work better with a long bolt and wing nut, as opposed to the hex head bolts - my plan is to replace the brace that's welded badly with a long bolt, a nut to secure to the bracket and a wing nut to hold the jack to the rig (how its done on my CJ)over all a couple design changes would make this an awesome product, but the 2 stars are because I have to do the changes my self. so instead of bolting on my jack I get to spend time locating wing nuts long screws and crush nuts.

Strudy Mount
The product is not too bad to install and is certainly the best option that I have seen for mounting the Hi-Lift Jack to the Yakima basket. Remember to bring the torque wrench and bit with you on the trail, you will need it to remove the lift from the mount as there is no quick disconnect option. If you have a lift gate, make sure you open the door before deciding the mounting holes to bolt through, otherwise your trunk door will be smashing into the foot of the jack. I recommened this product.

You paid for this?
The price is ridiculous for this bracket, and it seems to be the only option. I guess i'll keep secure my lift with a ratchet strap.

Does the job, but...
It would have been better w/ some kind of attachment for the lower portion.I have the 5 foot Hi lift and the weight is too much for this rack. What I mean is, the jack sits sideways because the two top attachment points need some help from bottom attachment points to keep it level. So, I just ride with it sideways, at least its out of my truck. Also, this is my second rack. I used to have a 5' x 4' Surco Safari rack that weighed a ton, but the Hi Lift, Shovel, and Axe attachments were of better quality.
