I have been buffing on cars and boats for over 20 years and have tried every tool, gimmick, polish and spray on the market. Surprisingly to me Meguiar's makes products in almost every category and this is no exception. (Their buffer is not the best but their liquid products are hands down the best)I have the Porter Cable 7424XP and have been using it for a few years. I have to say no matter what foam pad I try they are never even close to being able to remove oxidation from paint or fiberglass efficiently. I have burned up at least 15 of the yellow and orange pads trying to buff out paint so I decided to try the wool.I got the 6" backing plate and some cheap wool pads from Amazon and they were okay but loaded up and turned into a hard clump in no time. I decided to give it one more try and ordered this pad when I was ordering some stuff online.At first it was a plume of wool everywhere what a mess! There was wool all in the wax, all over the car, my clothes, even in my mouth! I thought this was a huge mistake but I kept at it.WOW Okay so once the excess wool flies off the first thing I noticed is that the product does no build up in the wool. It disperses almost completely and the pad does not clump up. The second thing I noticed was IT WORKS REALLY WELL!!!Yes it works like a champ on my 05 black expedition which was pretty bad ...my reflection was almost non existent when I started. It was like a dream - I used the Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and the deep scratches were filled in, the water spots gone, and most of all it was a mirror image looking back at me.Cleaning - First of all there is NO build up you can just run it through with soapy water and rinse out no problem. I expect to get quite a few uses out of this one for once!PROS: Works Really Well!! Does bot build up on the pad and to clean it just rinse it off with some soapy water with your hands.CONS: A lot of wool flies everywhere when you first use it. I would not recommend using inside a garage until the pad is broken in.

Figured I’d try it out and see how it would last. So far so good after many washes and cuts great!

Wow. I got this woolly and decided to use it on a spot scratch I had on my door. My car was very clean and dust free as it had been under a cover. I put the compound on the pad, primed the pad with some waterless wash and started on low speed as usual. Once I turned the buffer up to 4.5 that's when I was covered in wool. My car was covered in wool and so was the garage floor!! There was enough wool to warm an entire village for the Winter. I've never had this happen so I was spitting wool and trying to breathe. I did get the scratch out as expected, but if you buy this, be sure to wash and dry first. Maybe that will reduce the overage of wool.

I use it on my Dewalt polishing wheel so the size is tight. I been polishing for 20 years + so I will continue to use it. You should get a pad with extra edges to avoid burns or scuffs in the paint. Not for beginners, this is a pro polishing pad be aware.

Works well to polish and holds your product pretty well. Wool discs are still superior in my opinion.

Product exactly what I needed, arrived on time and reasonably priced. Needed to buff out a boat hull.

Works great with my 7" harbor freight rotary buffer!

I have been using Meguiars products for many years, this pad is one of the worst I VW ever used, the pad material is not too bad, lots of red powder/dust to first couple minutes of use, but gets better, the problem is the Velcro is glued off center, if you do get it where the lip of the pad and the backing plate are as close to Center as possible, it vibrates so bloody bad it’s hard to hold the machine, so if you move it so it’s not vibrating so bad in the vehicle, is so off Center your hitting areas you may not want to be polishing …. Come in Meguiars get with the program!!! You are very well known for your automotive polishing and cleaning products!! I can’t say whether I would order another one of these … I have an 8 inch soft buff red cut pad I’ve had for many years and is way WAY better than this one!! Buy at your own risk!!!
