One Problem down some more to go.
I have a Garmin Nuvi 780 and I have had to buy all kinds of parts for it. Like the cradle holder and the charger to the cradle holder. I have had to send it back to Garmin once before within the 90 days of buying it the screen blacked out and didn't turn on. The battery stopped holding a charge and I was unable to access the screen calibration or the system reset for my unit. After replacing the battery which was very easy. The battery worked fine. I liked how on the old battery the warning said there was risk of GPS exploding if not installed properly. It reminded me of the airplane fiasco that is going on with the lithium batteries exploding. Anyway I didn't even need to watch the video in order to replace the battery. It does it's job it comes with the parts needed for repair. I am happy with the product I bought. In regards to stripping the screws concern some people have. Here is some tech advice BE GENTLE WITH ANY AND ALL RAW PARTS AND OR SCREWS. You need to be gentle when it comes to unscrewing things or even handling hardware parts. If you do end up stripping the screw a quick life hack would be to use a rubber band to help you as per this video [...] For more life hacks visit the interwebs. But seriously this product is great. My GPS however is still not working because the touchscreen is not registering inputs and that was the issue I was trying to resolve in the first place by attempting to calibrate the GPS. Without the battery I would not even have been able to get to the calibration screen or the system reset screen. So again the battery replacement works for the Garmin Nuvi 780 and it is easy to install if you are not a barbarian monkey who is rough with the tools given to you.As for me I need to now buy a replacement screen and install that now. :/ Thanks to this battery I now have the tools to work on the inside further. Thanks a lot for having this product available.

Battery Replacement Kit for Garmin Nuvi 780
Battery only lasts about 1/2 hour then Garmin would not even come back on. Wish it had worked out for me.

Great - Super easy to follow DVD and battery is an exact OEM fit with 3 wires
History: Bought my Garmin GPS Nuvi 780 3.5 years ago in July 2009 from Amazon.BATTERY (old) Battery got "tired" after 2 years of light use. Most of the time I use my GPS it is plugged in to the car charger. Occasionally, I would run it on the battery only to "exercise" the battery - basically discharge it and recharge it to 100%. The battery that Garmin chose is too small only 1250 mAh - heck my LG Optimus V phone's battery is bigger at 1500 mAh (and this is a two year old phone with a small screen - nothing special!). Garmin was just cutting corners - the result is you are lucky to get 2 years out of your battery. Also, when I opened my gps I saw the date of the old battery (09/24/2008) was almost 1 year before I bought it in July 2009. So I started with a 1 year old battery.Battery (New): EXACT fit - I'm so tired of generic stuff that is not an exact fit. I bought a battery for my Zune player and it could not reach so when I looked at a cheaper battery I saw it only had two wires and the guy had to solder solder the third wire - NO WAY was I going to waste that time. The DVD:Great except for the screws. The Screws are tiny - Tors T-5 and you must press really hard to avoid stripping the screw heads. In the video they just come out with almost no effort. Also, the two plugs - one for the battery and one for the speaker should not be yanked by the wires. I prefer to pry the plug itself with a straight screwdriver or the plastic tool. The Tools:nice that they included them but the screw driver really is too light and kind of slippery. You must plan to press hard and work carefully to avoid stripping the screw heads. The case snaps together so tight that the screws are almost unnecessary.Overall - worth the extra $6? or so compared to other vendors because you get the DVD, the tools and most importantly a battery that is an exact (oem) fit.Performance: I will update this review if the battery fails to hold a good charge or wears out prematurely.*Past reviews - click on show all reviews to see that I am a real reviewer with over 70? reviews since ~ 2004?
