I was getting SUPER tired of my black locs. I’ve been LOC’D for two years and wanted to see if I could achieve a golden blonde look with this box dye. I got a decent lift on my hair, but it definitely was not the color on the box (as expected). However, I made the mistake of dying my roots too fast and got the golden blonde color on my roots in the front, and I actually love the way it turned out. I also have these really cool blonde ”er” ends from dying my hair before getting it LOC’D. I’d recommend starting with the ends and then processing your roots once you get a decent lift on the locs.

I have worn used this product and this color, Black, and colored my own hair at home for years. The beauty shop is expensive and inconvenient for in between touch ups. I do my own, and I highly recommend it using Dark & Lovely. The whole process takes about an hour to color, wait times, washing out, shampooing and moisturizing. I save at least $30 each time I use it. However, if your hair is being double processed (i.e., chemically straightened and you get a "curl") I recommend waiting two weeks before having it double processed again. My "curl" doesn't take as well if I don't give my hair a two week rest and a wash between coloring at home and going to the beauty shop.

This works and lasts around 6 to 8 weeks on someone who has hard-to-color gray hair. My hair takes around an hour for the color to saturate the hair shaft because it is stubborn. I like the fact after I've colored my hair with this color, you can't tell I just placed dye on my hair.

However, it did turn the darker color hair to a very soft natural looking blond. I was experimenting and….Edit: I might buy it again knowing it will not cover all the platinum. I’m pleased with it. What’s new about this solution is that it feels like it’s “stripping” off color. As your washing off the solution it feels sort of “gritty” like when hair has been bleached, without the bleachy feel after you dry your hair.

i’ve dyed my hair around 7 times (this time included) & thank God i know how to take care of my hair properly lol. but i got tired of by blonde & brown so i wanted to go back to black and man man man. i absolutely love this hair dye!!! it worked extremely fast and covered all of my blonde & brown strips while still being jet black! it didn’t make my hair fall out or damaged or anything. just dyed my hair that deep black that i wanted. will be repurchasing!!!

People was saying my hair had to be stripped down and this and that... Save it! Saved my money and my time! I did it myself at home with dark and lovely.

I had brought light brown came out super black on my hair. Oooh well

Turned my hair gold after an hour- product works but application time is anywhere between 60-75mm for perfect coloring- scent not as overwhelming as other brand in the market so that’s a plus-
