60cm trough not as depicted.
The 60cm trough is fine, but it is clearly depicted on the site with a single image showing a tray under the trough. You don't get the tray. The tray implies that the trough would have drainage holes, which it doesn't. Both issues are easily fixed but it means you have to fork out for an additional tray and get busy with a drill. I'm sure I could have worked this out with a bit more care and thought, but a picture paints a thousands words.... right? Feel a bit misled, to be honest!

Good trough much too much packaging.
A good looking basic trough that exactly meets my needs. Only thing is the packaging. I ordered 8 of these and they each came separately packaged in a box four times the size as in the picture. All 8 could have been put in the one box and the box would still be twice the size it should be. I now have a mountain of cardboard and paper packaging.

Ok product BUT...
The product seems ok but there was an enormous packaging waste, like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Very disappointing.

Good quality UK made plant tray
I purchased a number of these to put rows of pots in on a long windowsill in my enclosed balcony. The quality is what I expect from Stewart - a long established manufacturer of plastic products of this type. Good and sturdy (despite being described as lightweight they are pretty solid) and well finished. It's also good to be able to buy garden products that are manufactured in the UK, keeping the carbon footprint down. The dimensions are not exactly as stated in the description (which was listed as 80 x 19 x 2.5 cm)The tray has maximum external dimensions of 77.4 x 18.5 x 3 cm, and the internal dimensions at the base are 73.6 x 14.9 cm.(I imagine that the anomaly is because it is designed to fit the same manufacturer's plant trough, which is probably 80cm long at the top?)

It doesn't fit the 80cm pot!
This was bought to go with the deep trough 80cm pot but it is too narrow to take the base of the pot, so it was a waste of time! Fortunately my wife had another use for it so it wasn't worth sending it back, if I had to the amount of packaging was ridiculous.

Quality item, great price; excessive packaging.
A great item, but OH DEAR - (we had been warned by others in their reviews) What a ridculous way to package and send each one separately. Two would surely pack with one in a plastic bag (to prevent any vacuum) sitting in the other and then have corrugated cardboard, which is biodegradable and recyclable, within the cardboard box to protect against damage during transit. The actual trough is the quality you would expect from Stewart - very good. Happy to recommend the product for the quality and price, but join others in expressing dissatisfaction with the amount of packaging used.

Good sturdy troughs, but tear jurkingly wasteful packaging.
I'm amazed that TWO YEARS after a review identifying horrendous waste of packaging that it's still going on. The product itself suits my requirements well. I want to use it to replace lost paint trays on a children's easel.......sturdy and just a couple of holes to be drilled to fix in on. But each of my two trays arrived in separate boxes, each three times too wide and at least ten times too deep considering that the trays will stack easily. Both boxes stuffed with reams of crumpled brown paper. Who is in charge of packaging at Amazon??? Obviously a money waster who cares not a jot about our planet's resources.

Good but not great.
Nothing wrong with these but a little expensive for what they are. Would have preferred troughs with a water reservoir in the base. To get round this I added slices of florists foam in the bottom and while that works it adds to the cost.I need more troughs but will certainly buy with reservoirs next time.Plastic is not easily recycled, if at all. I will therefore be reusing these troughs and no doubt regretting again that I didn’t search further and find those with reservoirs 😐 My fault of course, the description is clear.
