Gently calming and non-sedating
I really, REALLY appreciate that these treats don't have melatonin or any other sedating drugs or hormones in them. When my dog is anxious due to construction near the house, thunder storms, meeting new people, being left alone for a couple hours, etc., I want to be able to treat that anxiety the way I treat my own, which is with herbs and drugs that make me feel calmer, not drugs that sedate me. I have been sedated before and it has ALWAYS made me more anxious even though I looked calm to the outside world because I wasn't able to move or talk as much. I don't know what's going on inside my dog's mind, but I do know that she can be very insecure and emotional, so the last thing I want to do when she's anxious is just shut her down and lock her inside her body with her confused doggy feelings so that I can get a break. I looked hard to find calming treats that weren't loaded with sedatives and I remembered buying something similar at the Only Natural Pet store in Boulder when I lived there years ago. I was so happy to find these. I give 1/4 to 1/2 a treat to my 8 lb dog when she's very anxious (once or twice a month), and within a half hour, she is much calmer, but she's not unresponsive. She's been able to sleep through construction nearby but she can also go for a walk and play while on these treats and she seems happier—not just shut down. Oh, and my dog loves them. I know melatonin is touted as safe (for people and pets alike) because it's a hormone your body naturally produces, but it really isn't something I want to be dosing my dog with in the middle of the day just because she's anxious. It's a sleep hormone that builds up in your (and your dog's) body throughout the day according to circadian rhythms and it can really mess up your hormones, sleep, and mood for a few days if you spike it through medication at some random time—I have experienced that myself when I took bad advice once that the best way to benefit from melatonin is to take it first thing in the morning. (The American Heart Association even says that in a 5-year study of 130,000 people who used melatonin for a year, they were more likely to be diagnosed with heart failure. The jury's out on melatonin, but I would say that it's best to be cautious, and that something naturally occurring in your body doesn't make it safe to take large doses of.)

Works for me!
I have 3 mini yorkies and a Siberian Husky and none are fans of fireworks! This product is perfect to chill them out without knocking them out. One of the yorkies is a rescue that licks repeatedly with anxiety issues. Again, it helps for calming.

Love product.
Perfect for fireworks. Give an hour before show begins.

Ok product
Does not work for German Shorthaired Pointers. Would probably recommend this for smaller, less high energy breeds. We try to use them during thunderstorms and high anxiety situations like our driveway being jackhammered up. 2 treats do not touch my 60lb GSP’s anxiety. We had our first container for at least a year and it remained the same consistency and smell the whole time so I do think the product is good for what it is, if anything it makes a good treat as needed. On our second container now.

Yes!
Helps my pitty during thunderstorms and fireworks, after trying many brands. She would pace and hyperventilate It was much needed and calms her anxiety.

Seems like it might help, not sure yet.
Only seeing a slight calming effect after only 10 minutes, then it either wears off or just isn't vey effective. Only tried one dose. Trying again this morning. Maybe her body needs to learn to accept it and perhaps she was fighting off the effects. Not sure. Mine is only 11lbs so takes 1/2 of a chew for dogs between 5-15 lbs. This dose may not be high enough, but I'm reluctant to try giving her more. She ate the first one fine and now turns her nose up at it. I mixed it with a few other treats and she did take one today again. Waiting to see if it causes any improvement. Mostly she is hyper vigilant about any sounds and noises and is on guard constantly watching for things mostly outside. She started this 3 weeks ago. Being an 11 year old dog, I'm thinking it has something to do with her declining slightly. Maybe her hearing and eyesight are not as sharp and she feels more on guard. Hope this if not something will help keep her calmer.

Great for Pups with Anxiety
Perfect for those high strong crazy pups. We use to calm our Australian shepherd down when large groups come over, few family members use it also. Just give it 30-45 mins to kick in
