I read some of the reviews complaining about how the nuts securing the clapper would quickly come loose from their retaining bolts. I did not want to use messy super glue, as some buyers recommended. Instead, I easily fixed this problem with a quick trip to the hardware store. I bought a few Size #8 zinc lock washers at a cost of 2 USD. I experimented with two varieties of lock washers: the "split" and "internal tooth" types. Both worked well, but I went with the internal tooth lock washers for their better appearance. I subsequently tested the clapper mechanism 100 times with the addition of the three lock washers, and the nuts remained tightly affixed to the three bolts. I am now very happy with how well my inexpensive clapboard functions. I am pleased with the money I saved over more expensive alternatives. This clapboard is a great value!

Works great. Love this slate. There’s a lot to love, not much to hate. I’m a film guy so I love to create. Only downside is it’s a little hard to erase, but I still give it a 5 star rate. Get one for your movie set mate.

This is not a real whiteboard so erasing it is very difficult ans leaves large stains and ghosts with all tried dry erase markers. Also, the quality of the print is very poor. It began to rub off the first day. False product distribution.

My Daughter is filming a skit for submission, and asked if I could find her a Clapboard. I bought this one, and she loves it. It has a magnet which is an added bonus. It is just a wonderful product.

This gets the job done and is a very useful tool to have. I didn't want to spend too much money on a slate and this was worth it. The only problem is the screws holding the clapstick always come loose, so I have to remember to tighten it very often otherwise they would fall off. A problem like this is expected for such a low price. This would be a good backup for a more expensive clapperboard, or a good primary one if you are on a budget like me.

My daughter is a film student and asked for this for Christmas. It’s perfect for a beginning film student, it has everything needed and she was very pleased with it.

With what you pay for this clapboard you're getting about what you should expect. Every screw was loose when I pulled it out of the box (Thread glue like Locktite is almost a must). The metal hinge is thin, though probably enough for light use. The color bars are ill fitting stickers.If I didn't need this for a last minute gig it would go back. But, it's inexpensive enough that it's nearly disposable. The text of the review may seem harsh for 3 stars but, it works and the quality seems on par with the price.

This looked good coming out of the box, but we couldn't erase the first thing we wrote on it. (We used the dry erase pen that came with it.)I tested that pen on another whiteboard and it erased, but left substantial smudging. I just tried a cheap whiteboard marker from the dollar store on the slate and it erased... unfortunately the slate is ruined from using the pen that came in the box with it.Disappointing, to say the least.Edited to add: I got it cleaned finally by resorting to acetone, which of course ruins the finish. I purchased a clear dry erase sticker and covered the entire surface with it because that was cheaper than buying a whole new slate. Now it works swell, but credit goes to the sticker maker, not this product.

I received my item the other day and i am really happy with my product. I do really recommend this seller because unlike other sellers this one sells you the hole package by this i mean you get the clapboard and the eraser and the eraser-able maker. Other sellers you only get the clapboard.
