EXCELLENT MOSCATEL SHERRY
I bought a bottle of this Lustau Emilin Moscatel Sherry to try and I am definitely won over. A really beautiful sherry. I am normally a cream sherry drinker, but I would highly recommend you try Moscatel if you have not done so. Okay, so it's a little pricy but it's worth it for the unique taste. Highly recommended and have reordered several times.

An excellent glass of sherry!
This is really lovely. The vicar and I have a shot glass of this before bed. Sweet and complex.

Very much like a junior Pedro Ximénez
This is a review of Lustau Emilin Moscatel Sherry, 75 clThis is a sweet sherry and unlike most it is made of the Moscatel grape. Most sherries are made of the Palomino grape but the two very sweetest are made from Moscatel, as here, or Pedro Ximénez. If you're reading this you'll know what a sweet sherry normally tastes like - brown sugar, a bit of treacle, hints of dried fruit etc.Moscatel and, even more so, Pedro Ximénez are different. They have a very pronounced raisin flavour, almost like a fruit puree enhanced by the almost viscous nature of the sherry.Pedro Ximénez can be almost black and is often around 15% alcohol by volume. This Moscatel is a lighter (in both senses of the word) version of the Pedro Ximénez. It's 17%, a little lighter in colour and less full on in terms of a pureed raisin flavour.I'm not a huge fan of Pedro Ximénez - too one dimensional, too sweet, not enough acidity and a flavour I'm not keen on.This Moscatel has all the same faults, in my eyes, but to a lesser degree. It's undeniably a very good example of its class; it's just not a style of sherry I'm taken with. However it's certainly one to try, even if just for the experience. I'm glad I did, but I won't be buying it again.

Tried this at lustau
We went to Jerez this year and sampled a number of sherries. This one is subtle, deep in taste, with a slight raisin, orange flavour and for my palate not too sweet, as far as sherry is concerned.
