Elvis Lives: The 25th Anniversary Concert "Live" From Memphis

The movie is so good. Austin butler did a stellar job playing Elvis he manages to in body Elvis’s soul and spirit. Tom Hanks performance was also epic!The costumes, the actors and the music all deserve a 10!!

About 3 months ago, My wife ( She's Phillipino ) and I were watching TV and Elvis was mentioned in a movie. I ask my wife what she knew about Elvis. Very little, she said, we rarely heard his music. I started to tell her about watching his last performance on TV. About how sad it was, how heavy he looked. He couldn't remember some of the lyrics to the songs he had sung hundreds of times. It was troubling. He was the King!About Graceland and the millions of followers, young and old from all walks of life. I wasn't a big Elvis fan, but I had respect for what he had accomplished as a singer,actor and his time in the millitary. I went on line and searched for the best DVD that would help me show my wife the true Elvis. My wife is an Elvis fan now! This DVD is amazing.

Well, at first this video sort of freaked me out. Elvis' backup players are old and it is clear that the footage of Elvis is from vegas, Aloha from hawaii and other concerts. However, at least the main face and energy on the DVD are Elvis.. The editors did a great job. I have the 40th Aloha from hawaii dvd and due to the split screen craziness of the time, i saw 6 little Elvis'. I had the original on Betamax and what a difference. But this DVD really did put Elvis front and center. Which as an Elvis fan, I want. Worth every penny!!!!!!!

I really wanted to give this 5 stars, just because it is Elvis, but can't. I saw the show twice in the UK, and was hoping for a dvd similar to that experiance. Although the songs are there, unfortunately the concert feel is ruined by CONSTANT interuptions due to terrible editing and insertion of band members comments spoiling the flow (this is obviously the fault of the dvd producers, not the band members themselves). Elvis' entrance is spoiled, and virtually every song has band members talking inbetween. Surely this could have been done as an optional commentary? The band members then have an extra feature where they talk. It's a shame that the concert itself is spoilt.

I had dreamt a thousand times of an event such as this but the spectacular concert DVD is way beyond any of my Elvis reunion fantasies. It is fabulous. The voice and footage of Elvis magically backed live by the original members of his 1970s band using latest technology. Run this DVD in a good player with quality sound equipment and you will be mesmerised. Play it loud and you will believe you are standing on the same stage!The band members still look and sound good 30 years on, and very obviously still got it all together. Also on stage are the Imperials, The Sweet Inspirations, the Stamps Quartet, and the Jordanaires. There is of course a glaring physical contrast between them now and the ever youthful Elvis beaming down from the gigantic screen, but this doesn't take anything away from the overall performance. And it seems they enjoy backing Elvis now as much as they did in 1970, 1972, and 1973, which is when most of the performances date from. This is apparent from the moment Elvis 'takes the stage'. From there on it is non-stop excitement.Elvis runs through some of his finest 70s concert material - in today's sound. The performances are powerful and sounding brand new. Notable absentees from the stage include John Wilkinson (rhythm guitar), Kathy Westmoreland (backing vocals), and of course the late JD Sumner of the Stamps Quartet.The song selection is excellent, although I would have dropped YOU GAVE ME A MOUNTAIN (not suitable for this event) and MY WAY (I much prefer his later 1977 more dynamic rendition). What about I Just Can't Help Believin' or Blue Suede Shoes from 1970 instead?(stunning versions) But that's only a personal opinion and I'm sure they know best! Then, the IF I CAN DREAM and AMERICAN TRILOGY segments have to be seen and heard to be believed.The DVD comes complete with a bonus feature - interviews mainly with number one drummer Ronnie Tutt and conductor Joe Guercio, on the concept and complexities of the show. If there is a criticism, it is that they have intrusively placed snippets of these interviews in the middle of a few songs to perhaps explain a relevant point.I STRONGLY recommend this DVD. For fans and non fans - you must see this. Thanks to the genius who put this show together.

This is amazing...all (or most?) of the original Elvis band on stage along with the backing singers. Although they of course have aged, they still sound as good as in the seventies, if not better. On top of that Elvis is on a big screen behind them. Its a bit weird but it seems almost real, just as if Elvis is there himself and its a 'real' concert. I really love this dvd and watch it more than any other Elvis music dvd. The sound is fantastic if you have surround sound or can plug your tv into a stereo (as I do). I can't recommend it enough and other Elvis fans will love it too!

I love this product, it really is like being at the concert, I don't even mind the talking by the TBC band it all adds to the experience. I was a little concerned when it mentioned English subtitles, but no need to worry, I've watched it 3 times already and had it less than a week. It's a little sad when you realise the young Elvis is not with us anymore, but would so recommended to any Elvis fan.

IF YOU TRULY ARE AN ELVIS FAN ,THEN YOU HAVE TO GET THIS DVD. FOR THOSE WHO NEVER SAW THE "KING" THEN THIS IS THE NEXT BEST THING. THE PERFORMANCE OF THE ELVIS BAND AND SUPPORT SINGERS WHO ACCOMPANIED HIM ON HIS TOURS THROUGHOUT HIS TIME ARE TRULY STUNNING WHEN ALONG WITH THE BACK PROJECTION OF ELVIS AS HE WAS DURING HIS LIVE PERFORMANCES....THE BLEND OF THE ORIGINAL MUSICIANS AND SINGERS IS AWESOME!!!! YOU DO REALLY FEEL AS THOUGH HE IS PERFORMING...NOW AND LIVE!!ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY....GO GET IT NOW.YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED. EXCELLENT VALUE FOR THE MONEY. WHEN YOU WATCH IT TURN IT, UP LOUD AND GET THE REAL FEELING YOU ARE THERE...WOW!!! OH BY THE WAY THE TRACKS SELECTED ON THIS COULD'NT BE A BETTER MATCH
