Broad City: Season 1

Not really worth buying if you already have digital versions.
First, let's talk about commentary. Commentary is treated like a completely different episode, so they are all on disk 2 (even if the un-comentated version is on disk 1 - which is kind of annoying). However this dvd actually has a very interesting take on commentary: It's only on a few episodes, and not like the commentary you're used to: It's the entire episode played in a smaller window, and Abbi and Illana sitting on a large bean-bag chair sort of thing on the floor in another window, watching the same episode you're watching. There's also weird pop-up messages that emphasize what they're saying in the commentary akin to the "WHAM!" and "Boof!" onomonapias of the old Batman show, sometimes they provide more information, like in pop-up video. The subtitle tracks are great - totally ordinary and easy to read. Also there are parts that I've never seen before built into each episode, mostly they're great additions but very short - like seconds long. The only annoying thing about this is, alas, you have to buy the dvd to get these extra features like that could easily be put on a digital version. That means you have to sit through every single "Comedy Central" and production company bump which is really obnoxioues. And then there's a pretty uninspired dvd menu - however, it is very short - so its easy to sit through. You do get a pretty funny Abbi-drawn map of NYC that points to various locations of things that happened or are talked about in the show. My favorite is "The ATM where that guy threw up on Abbi".All things considered, $15 is an ok price for this. The map is the only thing that even justifies the physical copy. Although the boxing is pretty nice - but i don't really care about that. I wish they would have expanded on the pop-up video aspect of the commentary, and had commentary for all episodes. However Abbi & Illana's demeanor in the commentary is pretty holier-than-thou and it kinda took away from the experience of the show. In hind sight I would not watch the commentary again.

Bathroom humor. Nudity and sex. Lots and lots of pot. Professional female slackers.
Bathroom humor. Nudity and sex. Lots and lots of pot. Professional female slackers. One of my three "go to" shows when I am a little depressed. It ALWAYS makes me laugh, even after the third go around. What's amazing is that this show, even after that description, it is NOT lowbrow. There is a remarkable amount of believability, sweetness and intelligence to it. Not only are the two stars hilarious, but the minor, infinitely quirky secondary characters carry the show.If you enjoy this show, may I recommend "the inbetweeners", another overlooked filthy, but amazingly funny and somewhat touching series about high school teenage boys. My third go-to show is, of course, the indomitable and incomparable classic of bathroom and cultural humor, South Park.

Broad City: Show on Comedy Central
I started watching a few shows on Comedy Central, namely, Broad City, Key & Peele, and Inside Amy Schumer, and I have enjoyed watching these shows ever since. I was drawn to this show which focuses on the everyday life of Ilana and Abbi as they move around in New York City. I was further delighted to learn that Amy Poehler produced the last episode of this season. Some may even compare Broad City to Girls (I wouldn't), however I appreciate how life as a twenty-something woman in New York City is depicted, plus they are so funny! I also enjoy how each character develops and we come to understand characteristics they possess. I gave it four stars because I love their show and it's so funny.

Broad City is absolutely hilarious
This show is my all time favorite. Ilana and Abbi are two powerful, feminist, young women living in New York City, and struggling through many challenges. This is very relatable, and a riot. It’s raunchy and inappropriate at times, definitely don’t watch around children, but it’s a great, funny show. I like to relate it to the women’s version of Workaholics, but better.

Fun stuff
Fun, slightly edgy, stories of life in the big city for two young women, way more "real" than similar Hollywood made-for-tv shows. Their pre-TV video short were more fresh and inspired, and didn't have the sometimes annoying recurring characters that tend to ossify a creative effort, but a worthwhile addition to your video library.

Hilarious and Uncensored
I'm so glad they got renewed for another season! The DVD of season 1 is uncensored, so no annoying beeps or drops in volume :)Season 1 comes w a drawn map of New York by Abbi. It has some landmarks that are visited througout the season, very funny and nice addon!

If you cant appreciate this show...
... then you blow turkey balls. Could these two be any more perfect? I can't tell you how long it had been since I had actually bought a physical copy of a show until these two peaches decided to grace us on the boobtube. I love this season and couldn't have asked for anything better!

Approach the game with no preset agendas and you'll probably come away surprised at your overall efforts.
This is a really good show. Many a fun fun good time was had while viewing it. Pleasure levels were elevated real way up there. Make sure to brush your teeth before watching, you will be smiling a lot. These ladies induce many a yuck yuck themselves, then Hannibal Buress pops up every other television show should just give up and go home.
