I have used this for years to make various Malaysian and Indonesian recipes and the quality is unbeatable! I make sure to store it in an airtight container in the freezer since it’s only utilized in small amounts, otherwise the smell is pungent and will permeate everything in your fridge or kitchen.

I can’t say it smells good, but it sure is good quality. Once open, you need to have a container to put it in.

While I’m not an expert on shrimp paste, as I just ordered it to make some dishes and wanted my ingredients to be completely authentic, I was a bit skeptical of ordering such a product online. It arrived well sealed, unexpired, and fresh. It also keeps well once opened and immediately refrigerated.

I pulled it out of the box and my youngest cat loved it. He sat most of the night waiting wit to start again.

It's good stuff. Fair warning if you've never used it, this is shrimp paste. It's about as concentrated in flavor *and* in smell as can be.
