CODENAME VILLANELLE Paperback – 6 September 2018

I’ve read the reviews before buying the books and I had a lot of speculation on whether or not to get it because I really did not wanted to spoil the story for me. But against all odds, this book is amazing. The author does a beautiful deep dive into the characters and how they’ve come to become what they are, especially eve and villanelle. The storyline is exciting and it makes you feel like you are a part of it. I’m hooked and I can’t get enough of it. Totally worth it.

Overpriced and boring. Bought the book with great anticipation as I liked the TV series "Killing Eve" based on this book. In fact, the screenplay writers have done a better job translating the writer's vision to the screen so that it leaves a residual impact.There are too many product references in this book; which may/may not be adverts; or just reflective of the writer's personality. The end leaves a lot to be desired, could have streamlined it further. Interesting only in parts. And; a very high price, especially for Indian customers. Better off avoiding this purchase.

Some people say its trash but Im not one of them. If you have seen the show i find this book to.give you some interesting back story on some stuff. There some difference with the shkw that keep you interested and alas if you think of the actress while reading its a really nice reminder.

Loved the tv series but the book is much better. The characters are less bizzarre and have more depth. The story is so intense and interesting.

Compré la edición para Kindle porque estaba muy bien de precio, y me apetecía profundizar un poco más en la historia que inspiró la serie Killing Eve. La verdad es que, si te gustó la serie, debes darle una oportunidad al libro, porque siempre hay datos que las series no incluyen y, en este caso, entretiene aunque hayas visto ésta.

(Spoilerfrei)Ich habe die Bücher, wie viele andere vmtl. auch, aufgrund der TV Serie gelesen. Ich habe die ersten drei Staffeln auf deutsch gebinged und dann gleich ein zweites Mal auf englisch und da ich immer noch nicht genug hatte, habe ich mir die Bücher bestellt und jedes gleich zwei Mal gelesen. Dazu ein paar kurze Punkte meinerseits:Die Charaktere und die Story unterscheiden sich essenziell von der Serie. Ich finds klasse, weil so zwei unabhängige und eigenständig gute Werke entstanden sind, die man individuell konsumieren kann, ohne dass das eine Medium das andere spoilert. Davon abgesehen denke ich auch nicht, dass eine 1:1-Verfilmung der Bücher wirklich funktioniert hätte ...Während in der Serie die Morde und die Charakterentwicklungen ad absurdum geführt werden - was an sich ja funktioniert - und die Serie mit jeder Staffel etwas an ihrer Ernsthaftigkeit verliert - was mMn auch passt - bleiben die Bücher ziemlich ernst, vielleicht auch ein bisschen düster. Ähnlich wie sich bei der Serie von Staffel zu Staffel Fokus der Handlung und Beziehungen der Charaktere verändert, verändern sich diese auch von Buch zu Buch. Wir können hier eine wunderbare, (größtenteils^^) nachvollziehbare Charakterentwicklung verfolgen, bei der ich gar nicht viel mehr zu sagen möchte.Wer Interesse hat, die Bücher zu lesen, sollte einfach mal reinschauen, obs was für einen ist oder nicht, zeigt sich eig. schon relativ schnell.Abschließend bzgl. der Ästhetik im Bücherschrank: Ich rate dazu beim Buchkauf auf die Maße zu achten. Je nachdem welche Ausgabe man sich besorgt, variiert die Größe z.B. zwischen 13.97 x 1.59 x 20.96 cm und 12.9 x 1.9 x 19.9 cm. Am besten steht im Titel "The basis for the BAFTA-winning Killing Eve TV series" (scheint mir der hochwertigere Druck).

Atenção KILLING EVERS!!!Aqui vai uma consideração a ser feita sobre o primeiro livro da série: se você vai ler apenas por causa da série de televisão, cuidado com as expectativas pois há muitas diferenças que talvez não agradem todo mundo.Falando por mim, foi uma experiência muito interessante e o livro me prendeu bastante, porém concordo com os que falam que o autor tinha em suas mãos uma grande premissa e acabou apresentando apenas o raso, deixando o leitor apenas com uma remota possibilidade de desenvolvimento da trama.Embora minha avaliação seja muito positiva, reconheço que é excepcional justamente pelo meu apreço aos personagens da televisão (escrevo durante a exibição da terceira temporada, tempo suficiente para os personagens crescerem em mim).De qualquer forma, recomendo que leia e tire suas próprias conclusões, não é uma leitura em vão.
