WEN BG4266 2.1-Amp 6-Inch Bench Grinder

Does the job of grinding and smoothing the SS plate well, no need to spend too much for a similar performance.

I bought the WEN 6 inch Bench Grinder with no light. I didn't need the light, and I didn't want to have to deal with it in storage. The grinder itself is perfect for what I want to use it for. It cost much less than a similar sized grinder from DeWalt or Milwaukee, and it doesn't matter because it's not going to get a lot of hard use, mainly to sharpen and smooth.

I like the compact size and power. The down side is the plastic shields that come with it are poorly made. It does work well and is rather quiet.

I bought this with the intention of turning it into a wire-wheel and polisher. I removed the protective guards and grinding wheels and then replaced it with a steel wire-wheel and cotton polisher wheel. I had issues installing the wire wheel as it's too thin for the wheel to lock in. I had to use three oil drain bolt washers I left around to secure it in place. Using the wire-wheel and polisher, I was able to restore some dirty and rusty hand tools back to life.

The media could not be loaded. OMG, This is like paradise to me. I've been sharpening my mower blades with a small dremel and a Sharpening Bit. This is the Hilton hotel ofBench grinding blade sharpeners.It doesn't even move at all. I put it as you see on my table saw it didn't move. I would suggest if you're doing mower blades and you take them off your mower, run them first across the course wheel and then fine tune it on the smooth wheel the fine grit wheel. Get the dirt gunk and nicks off first and then use the smooth fine part.

The outer box showed zero damage. However, there was "damage" to the actual item inside. Based on what I am seeing, especially in my last image, this damage occurred before the product was even placed into the box. It's impossible for the base to have had a part bent OUTWARD as a result of shipping. This piece was clearly damaged during the installation process and the employee decided it was good enough, likely to minimize a negative impact to their production #s and employment. Images 1-3 show cracks in the padding and tears in the bag. The padding I can understand but the baggage tears I do not. My initial thought was that I received a product previously returned, which it may be, because of what I was seeing. This damage is unlike any resulting from shipping that I've EVER seen.I'd return this product if not for the inconvenience of doing so and the fact that it works well enough despite the bent foot. I do believe, however, that this damaged foot results in an abnormal amount of vibration. This makes the product a bit louder than I think it would be otherwise.
