It's An Ugly Miracle
I'm almost to 28 weeks, and I've been suffering with an inguinal hernia for about 2 months. My doctor suggested any type of tight compression belt, underwear or stockings to help with the pain. In her words, "the tighter the better!". I did a lot of research online, and finally decided on this. I was hesitant to spend so much money on something I hope to never use again, but I should have bought it sooner! The Pro:- It works!! The groin support bands are the best thing ever. I've tried wearing the belt without them, and it just doesn't work to reduce the hernia pain. They are magical. As soon as I put the belt on, the pain from the hernia goes away. After work, I spend a lot of time on my feet cooking dinner, doing dishes, preparing lunches, cleaning, etc. and the first night that I wore the belt I was able to do all my "chores" without pain! The Cons:- It's bulky and can be noticed under most clothing. Since I'm generally not allowing the pregnancy to get in the way of my vanity, I wear maternity SPANX during the day to work. I take advantage of the fact that I can teach sitting down if/when the pain gets too bad. (The SPANX don't provide enough support for me to stand almost all day like I usually would; the groin compression stretches out after several wearings.) I wear this first thing in the morning out of the shower (over my underwear!), then put the SPANX on when I get dressed, and return to the Baby Belly Band when I put my pjs on in the evening.- Pregnant ladies use the bathroom a lot, and it's annoying to unstrap the entire thing 10 times a day to potty. I used to take off the entire belt (especially when I'm wearing it just at home under pajamas), but now I simply unsnap the groin bands from the front and re-attach them on the side so they're not in the way, pull down my undies, and then tuck my underwear back up underneath the belt and re-attach the groin bands the way they're supposed to be. Makes for a much quicker bathroom trip!Basically, it's an ugly, awful contraption (my husband calls it my UPS belt [like the kind delivery of warehouse men might wear]) that is expensive, but it's worth it, especially if you need relief from an inguinal hernia. Don't hesitate like I did; buy it today and you'll be happier sooner.

Relieves the pain, so I can deal with everything else.
I have been wearing this for about 3 weeks now for vulvar varices related to my current twin pregnancy. I also ordered the It's You Babe V2 Supporter at the same time because I couldn't decide which would be better and was in such need of something that worked that I didn't mind ordering both and comparing.Pros:- Provides greater support and can be adjusted for increased support or support where you need it- Size. It's got the bulk to give realistic support but I don't think its too noticeable with black leggings. Most of my shirts cover some to all of my bum anyway. The part around your waist does add diameter so some pants that I could previously get on are harder to button now.- Built in belly band.- Adjustable. No wedgies, no areas that need support but can't get it.- Washable. No problems, still in good shape. Given where it goes and how often I'm wearing it, doesn't even smell.Cons:- Hotter, its made of neoprene and covers more surface area than the other supporter so it is warmer. But when I'm having pain from varicose veins I would rather be warmer than in more pain so I wore this to Disneyworld in October (mid-high 80s) and around our Florida zoo and just about anywhere I know I'll be sitting, standing, or walking any significant amount of time.- Annoying when trying to use bathroom. This is also a slight con for me. Again, I don't care as long as I'm not in pain and I'm now in a kind of routine with it so it doesn't bother me.- Stretching. I saw this in the reviews and it does stretch some but since everything is adjustable it hasn't been an issue. My biggest issue with this product is that I have to wear it at all, which isn't the product's fault. To sum up, if I know I'll be sitting, walking, standing a lot then I wear this one. If its a light day then I'll try the other supporter which is less bulky and cooler but not as supportive. I'm betting as I get bigger I'll probably only wear this one.
