Dagger Of Kamui

Essentially this movie is an old kung Fu flick done by 1980s anime industry. It's very campy, very fun, and has beautiful animation. The soundtrack is like some 70s funkadelic something and somehow it works, perfectly. The dvd transfer sucks, not much than vhs honestly. Maybe a blue ray one day...I hope, but if not at least I have the dvd

This is one of the first anime' films I ever saw. I originally has it on tape and now I have it on DVD. This is a great story about an important time in Japanese history, a time when Japan was forced into modern times. I consider a must have if you're building an anime' collection.

For those who grew up watching the Toei animation series called Kamui, the Ninja Trader; This is not the same. Having said that, it has many similarities and in fact it symbolizes the same character as the Toei animations. But it is all about the origin of Kamui, how he grew up, how and who thought him and how he becomes a fugitive. The quality is very good and the story is clear and logical. Even Kamui's face shows similarities to the original character but they've made him younger. All by all I should say that this is a good movie of good quality and a good plot but still not the original "Toei". That's why I gave it 4 stars.

This film is fantastic! Despite being an early work of animation it still holds up quite well today. I had seen this movie under the title the blade of Kamui a long time ago. I searched for it and was very happy to see it had been released on dvd. This film is much longer than most anime OVA's and the story is captivating. The ninja action is also quite authentic and not over the top which really makes it more exciting to watch. If you enjoy tales of treasure, betrayal, and of course a lone ninja fighting for survival against overwhelming odds you will love this! Think of it as ninja assassin with a better plot and more realistic battle scenes!

Great 80s anime movie!

This was the first anime film I watched as a child in the 80s and set the bar high for every anime I tried to watch after.Granted, the version I saw was dubbed in English and heavily edited and retitled "Revenge of the Ninja Warrior"Dagger of Kamui is a great, albeit long, movie with a hero you just feel a great deal of pity for throughout.

Uhmm hmm. This was more made from a tape to a DVD which is fine cause I can do that backing up my old VHS. But this could have been moved to DVD a bit better. Show is old style and fun to watch just wish they had put effort in putting it too DVD.

I did not see this one. It's my son who likes Japanese Anime films.

Very good DVD manga movie with historic story.This is about Japan Samurai warrior, about there life and the problem warrior and Japan have.

Good entertainment. Kind of a predecessor to Ninja Scroll.

A very beautifully animated film with a 70s funk sound track the action is pretty solid and very smooth with an interstate story and a very likeable quiet hero
