McFarlane Toys Harry Potter Hungarian Horntail Deluxe Box

When I first purchased this item, I was confident in the quality after looking at numerous positive reviews. When the item actually arrived to me in person, I was pleasantly surprised that the quality went above and beyond what expectations I had previously. The dragon itself is incredibly well-made and very flexible, allowing it to be in displaying a multitude of different positions. The material feels strong and durable, making it an excellent room decoration and model, I would highly, highly recommend to anyone interested in purchasing 👍

I have been quite critical of McFarlane’s recent media releases (GoT dragons) due to them lacking in quality paint application and detail. This, however, is a vast improvement over those previous releases.I can honestly say that this is the quintessential affordable Hungarian Horntail on the market right now. It’s a brilliant sculpt with no shortage of detail or articulation points. The tail is bendable and the base plate looks great. Clean and crisp paint application with everything the dragon from the movie could have been. The two things that are missing though, are an insert able jet of flame (these came with the GoT dragons) and the chain pictured on the box figure.See photos attached for more detail. Better than I thought. Very detailed figure with moveable parts to change positions. The tail is malleable, just dont go crazy with the positions. Head doesnt seem to move but neck moves left and right. Wings have good articulation. Recommend getting if a fan of dragons or Harry Potter series. FYI The chain doesnt come with the figure. Only the dragon, stand that has the golden egg, and the stick to put dragon on top to simulate it flying.

Wanted a realistic flying dragon for my collection.I ordered this hoping it would fit in and was more than satisfied. A beautiful piece very well done especially at the price.

Beautiful rendition of the Hungarian Horntail from The Goblet of Fire. In fact this beaut is without a doubt, the best figure or collectible of this Dragon species you can hope to get.Highly pose-able with amazing paint apps and wonderfully accurate sculpt.

I purchased this because D&D Dragon Minis are helluva expensive. For the price it was fair and for the scale it is good. It has balance issues when standing on it's base. The box it came in was a bit damaged, but that didn't matter, I was able to jury-rig up a post to give it the precise balance it needed to stay standing on it's base. If you want it for just a showpiece it looks great in mid-air with it's peg. Using it for a mini though is a balancing act, but workable.

The stand was pretty much useless oh, but that's not the feature I was looking for. My daughter love dragons and kept hinting about getting a toy Dragon for Christmas that had movable parts so she could pose it. She absolutely loved it, and this is what she had in mind. It was her favorite gift this Christmas. We pretty much threw away the stand on the day she opened her present because it doesn't hold the dragon up. But for a child who just wants a toy to play with, and not just something to sit as decoration on a dresser or shelf somewhere this was perfect.

I was awaiting disappointment but was pretty blown away by the quality. Lots of articulation, good paint job, and multiple poses. We went a decidedly different route…
