Nice historically accurate fiction series I have enjoyed very much, this cookbook is added charm

I've always been one to fully immerse myself in my books. If the author writes of a location I fire up Google Earth to see it for myself. If they write of food I'm Googling a recipe. Octavia has saved me the trouble in this wonderful companion recipe book. She's also included blank pages after every recipe for notes which come in handy if you're like me and change up or add to a recipe. I think it's safe to say that my family's favorite recipe has to be the one for Honey Cakes.

A small booklet with a small amount of recipes but has a little lore with it and will make a nice small gift for a lady in our Viking group which I think she will like.

I've enjoyed reading the recipes and also looking at the drawings. Cooking is not my favorite thing and I bought the book mainly to add to my collection of Octavia Randolph's other books. I love Octavia's story telling.

Great book buy the whole series

Nothing to dislike!

I enjoy learning about how people made enjoyable meals so long ago. It is fun to have this cookbook to refer to and to try out 9th-century cooking on your own!
