I wanted to make a little more room in a bedroom and get rid of a lesser favored floor lamp at the same time, so I decided to try these sconces. I am by no means a handyman. I did install these by myself. Installation was fairly simple, and instructions were included. I like that these came with bulbs, LED bulbs even. The bulbs are dimmable and can be completely turned off using the knob on each light. The knob is how you dim the bulbs as well obviously. These just so happen to be plugged into an outlet that is controlled by a wall switch, so it worked out handier for me for turning lights on and off upon entering/exiting the room. Then being able to control them at the lights is a bonus. I believe that they look classier than some sconces. I like these better than a floor lamp, plus the added room. These produce ample light. The bulbs have the steampunk look. These can be hardwired too, but I am not handyman enough for that, although no wires would have looked even better. These lights are quite adjustable for positions. They swing back and forth as well as up and down. So far, they stay put after tightening the wing nuts once they're in the position you want them to be. I hope that this review helps someone decide whether to purchase this product or not.
