The Compost ECO Food Caddy is a simple but essential addition to our kitchen. It’s the perfect size for collecting food waste, and having it on the counter makes composting so much easier. We line it with biodegradable food bags, which helps keep everything clean and makes emptying it hassle-free. The design is sturdy and well-made, with a secure lid that helps keep odors contained. It’s also easy to rinse out and keep fresh, which is a big plus when dealing with food scraps. Excellent caddy, just the right size to keep on the kitchen worktop. Ideal for kitchen scraps, ie onion peelings, banana skins etc. I use it with a biogradable compost bag. The bags are robust enough to be able to leave in the caddy a couple of times after you have disposed of the contents into a larger bin for the compost heap or for refuse collection, depending on your preference. The bag can then be disposed of with the remaining contents as above. The caddy is also very easy to clean, especially if you use bags. An absolute must for the kitchen.

Excellent quality as expected from Minky. Nice worktop size and the inclusion of the bag clip really helps to keep the bag secure. Multiple colours available look good in any kitchen. I would definitely recommend.

We’re using one of these for clearing and carrying the solid waste from the various litter trays that are strategically distributed around our multi-fur–baby home, so that we can dispose of it all in one go. The 5l compostable caddy liners that we already have for food waste fit this with capacity to spare, and the liner ring holds the excess securely without anything hanging outside the caddy for inquisitive kittens to grab or tear. The lid snaps shut with a reassuring click and seals both the waste and any smells inside. This has made our litter tray cleaning routine so much quicker as it can all be done in situ.

On the whole it is ok. But the sealing mechanism is flawed. The lid has a ridge that should engage with the caddy so it ‘clicks’ shut sealing in any odours. however it doesn’t engage properly and pops open immediately. This looks like a design floor with regard to the flexibility of the material used rather than a one-off fault.
