Game changer for sick/disabled people!
This litter mat is worth it's weight in gold. I have tried SO many litter mats in the last 20 years and this is the only one that's worked. Yes, the price seems high for a mat, but it's reduced the litter on the floor from our boxes by about %90. We got two of the medium mats for two of our four litter boxes. They are great, but I'm not spending $140 on mats for all four boxes. We use them under our litter boxes without lids. If you have a litter box without a lid I HIGHLY suggest getting the larger size, the medium is not enough, it's not big enough the catch the litter on the sides. If you have a litter box with a lid, the medium size is perfect. We rescue cats so we always have a full house. You're always supposed to have an equal number of cats and litter boxes plus one, especially in a multi-cat home, so we have way more litter than most people. We also have hardwoods so litter is much more noticeable. We empty our mats every 2-3 days and that's all it really needs. **If you don't dump it regularly, it will not be able to do it's job and you will have litter all over your floor again. It works by catching the litter in it's small holes, once they fill up it's ineffective. It's not a problem if you use it correctly and dump it every few days depending on how messy your cat is. Ours are VERY messy. I pull it out and dump the excess litter right back into the box. The top is foam so anything that gets on it (poop, vomit) wipes right off with water. The cats don't scratch the mat unless I've left it out after dumping it. They don't mind stepping on it and neither do I, you won't get litter on your feet. I actually go up to it sometimes to wipe litter off of my feet or shoes. It's brilliant for that purpose alone. I would say this product is necessary if you have cats. We used to have to sweep everyday, and it wasn't enough at all. I'm sick with an autoimmune/neurological disease so I'm never able to clean, my mom had to. This truly changed my life. If you have an illness or disability I strongly recommend this. I don't know how I lived without it before.

Clean(er) floors, happy cats
I've used litter mats in the past but haven't had much success with the ones that have the poky pieces sticking up to scratch the litter out of paws. I wanted to try something a little different and am glad that I did. The first thing about this litter mat is it's soft and doesn't deter them from going into and out of the litter box. There was a little trepidation from one cat but after sniffing it out, she hasn't had any problems. The size is big enough that it covers the entirety of the exit so they have to step on it and get clean. The litter collects on the second mat underneath and can be shaken back into the litter box or thrown away easily. The biggest benefit to this litter mat was that it was shipped flat. Others I have received were folded or rolled up and they never seem to get back to a proper shape.

this wasn't great. I couldn't find a good place to "tuck" ...
My litter boxes are around and in the corner, so for me, this wasn't great. I couldn't find a good place to "tuck" it up against the litter box. It just seemed awkward. I still use it, but now I have it on my patio (just outside patio door)--not for wiping mud or anything, but maybe so when they run from inside (litter box zone) to the patio, they won't track a ton of litter on the patio. I think it's a good product that I didn't think through for my use.

There are many options. This one is simply better
You can get similar product for less. And for some, that may be adequate. However, these have outlasted and worked better than the knockoffs. So you can get one of the lesser options and replace them more often, or you can pay more upfront for a better, longer lasting product. I went with the better product and don’t regret it.

Modern - feels and looks good
This mat is a nice change compared to the typical kitty litter mat because it is modern looking. It actually goes with my bathroom decor. And when I accidentally step on it sometimes, it feels pretty good underneath my bare feet. lol. It works great for kitty paws too. It is worth the extra money for sure.

Not worth the cost.
So, it's a litter mat. It does the job. It's made fairly well. It holds the litter. That's why it gets three stars. However, the cost/functionality ratio is way off. This doesn't really do anything that a ten dollar mat does. For fifteen dollars this would be a pretty good buy. For more than thirty dollars? Not a good buy at all. The product works, but is way overpriced for what it does.Verdict: 4/10 Would not buy again unless there was a sale of more than 50% off.

Cats Meow (I had to do that). Catches LOTS of litter but still not in the way if it's in your walking path.
Deep enough to capture/hide the litter and comfortable to walk onOurs is in the mud room and slightly in the walking path. So it was good to know / confirm it's comfortable to walk on.My wfie hated it before I installed it. A combo of "what did you spend money on" and it's going to be in the way. She loves it now as it catches ALL (for our cats - YMMV) the litter spread - and is also comfortable or not an issue to wak over. This is open on two sides. I'm just mentioning that as some are only open on one end. It does make it easier to get all the litter out and clean. You just can't forget to pick up by both sides. If you're wondering about size - I'd say "go larger". I even measured and marked on my floor - but after tucking several inches back we're barely catching the litter (of course it'd be more in the path in our mud room). So I'm happy with my size with these cats. Would go larger next time.
