it appears to be very good performance by both the Engel cooler and the ice ...
I had a chance to try the Engel ENG80 cooler together with Cooler Shock cold packs on a three day raft trip. Though it is a model ENG80, it reportedly holds about 75 quarts. The large cooler had a 15 pound block of ice, 3 cold packs and about 2 cases of beverage containers with a couple of other food items. Daytime temperatures were around high 60's up to 70 degrees. Nighttime temperatures dropped to about 40 degrees. The cooler door was opened several times per day. By the end of the three day trip, the ice block had not seemed to melt at all. There was no liquid water in the bottom of the cooler. The ice packs had a slushy feel, but were still clearly cold. To go ahead and test the cooler and packs a little more I left them in the back of a vehicle for three more days and checked the cooler each day. Temperatures probably reached 70 to 80 degrees during the day in the closed vehicle. By the sixth day there was still about 40 percent of the ice block still frozen. Overall, it appears to be very good performance by both the Engel cooler and the ice packs. This cooler has its handles set up for running through cam lock straps, so it ties down well. The latches seem good. The cooler initially seems well-built and durable. Fortunately, I did not have a chance to prove that it was bear-proof.I used the same cooler to transport some ice cream and frozen food on a 90 minute trip. I threw in one Cooler Shock cold pack. There was a little bit of residual water in the bottom of the cooler, too. When I unloaded the cooler, the food items were still frozen. Beyond that, the residual water in the bottom of the cooler had frozen and was dry to the touch--from the cold pack.I may follow up on this review when I take a longer multi-day raft trip, but initially this Engel cooler performs very well. The Cooler Shack ice packs are a good complement, too. They are fairly easy to put together.

Keeps ice half the advertised duration
The main reason I purchased this cooler was the advertised 10 days keeping ice. Once I received it I put 20 lbs of ice in it and put it on my back deck in Colorado 90 degree weather. I only opened it once a day after work to check the level the ice was at. It was down to cold water by the end of the fifth day. Half the advertised duration. Strongly considering returning it

Good cooler with cheap latches.
Update-I have owned this cooler for a little over one year and it has served me well for about 13 total outings on my boat. Honestly, I can tell you that i have only used this cooler 13 times between the boat and a few backyard parties. I always clean it and store it in my garage as I take care of my gear. This past weekend i had a latch break in my hand as i was closing the cooler. It was almost as if it slipped off because the metal component that connects the latch to the cooler disintegrated!! What good is a $300+ cooler if the latch is made like crap! I am getting pissed at the cut corners and may have to try RTIC. I previously owned a YETI and i can say that the YETI, ORCA, RTIC latches are much better than the Engel latches.I had a yeti 65 but it was too small and heavy for my needs some sold it and bought this Engel 80. The size is exactly what I need and it is built to last! I have not tested how long it will hold ice but it seems to be just as good if not better than my previous yeti

Disappointed
I've held off writing the review because I was trying to get my ice to keep longer. Now I've had it a little over a month. First, it is strong, sturdy and locks real well. The drain is great.Unfortunately the ice lasts about 2 days. It is kept under an overhang, completely shaded. The weather has varied, from 60 degrees to 90 degrees. This last time I filled the cooler with 3-12pks of drinks, a box of juice boxes and some waters. I put 28lbs of ice in the cooler. I did this on Saturday at about 2pm. Now, on Monday at 9 am I have all water. I did not open the cooler once on Sunday. I highly regret not going with another brand but now I'm stuck with a cooler that holds ice like my $40 cheap cooler from walmart.

Amended Review
After using on an extended hunting trip I still love this cooler but if you have toddlers beware that the heavy lid only opens to slightly more than 90 degrees so even if placed on level ground the lid annoyingly comes down on your head, fingers, etc. with the slightest jiggling. Very unpleasant. I will figure out a way to prop the lid open with a stick or device when open to deal with this design flaw and keep the little ones away from the cooler.

As good a a $20 walmart cooler
Firstly, the warranty is not valid if purchased from Amazon, so if you do buy this cooler, don't buy it here. Secondly, mine is defective (see picture of warped side), but it doesn't even hold ice for 2 days in 80 degree weather. My buddy's cheap Coleman holds ice longer. The engel warranty department informed me that the warp should not have any effect on ice retention and insulation... so, since this is my only engel cooler (and my last engel cooler), I must say that I am very disappointed. Really a waste of money. RTIC coolers are way better (and also way cheaper).

Weak Latches
These rubber Latches brake easily and Engel customer service is horrible. You have to pay for replacement parts and shipping. On top of all that, I was mistakenly shipped metal latches (versus the rubber ones) and now they won’t pay for return shipping.

Do not purchase
Did not keep items cold. Lid was warped. Seller made return very difficult by not paying return shipping. I had to file a claim with Amazon to resolve. Do not recommend this overpriced product.

These coolers are super cool......
There really is nothing to dislike about Engel coolers, they take a beating and keep ice for a ridiculous amount of time.....oh ya they are bear proof🐻 So put that in your pipe and smoke it.
