i have used these for some time now and i would NOT recommend it for the stated permanent use. i would and have used it for proper locating and then sewing as a permanent use. if it is to locate and leave patches or other items on an item not worn, it might be permanent. if you are going to wear the item and use this sticky material to attach, i would recommend sewing it in place to make it last. all it takes is a corner or well used location to slowly "work" the patch off its location. once it starts to come off its location it will just continue to come off with more use. i would still recommend this item for many purposes and materials but the material you are attaching to another is also another factor in requiring manual sewing after the item is attached. if the material is fuzzy, DONT expect this to work at all. if you are using slick material, DONT use this for that project. good luck with your projects and remember to buy sewing needles and thread to make it really permanent.
