This product is exactly what I need. When loading/unloading my RV, I always plug into “shore power” via a 15-amp electrical receptacle located on the exterior of my house. I’ve heard stories from other RV’ers about a surge of electricity damaging the delicate electronic circuits of their motorhome. This product will help protect my investment. “Isn’t that what my house circuit breakers were designed to do?” you may ask. Yes, but: 1. Not all home electrical outlets have ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protection. This portable unit gives me that protection. 2. My house is 21 years old and sometimes old circuit breakers can become a little slow acting when detecting a problem. This portable surge protector will add an extra layer of electrical security, as well as piece of mind for me. Additional benefits: 1. It is very well made 2. It is UL listed 3. it has a little green LED light that shows that it is “ON” 4. It has a “test” button The only improvement I can recommend would be to design the male end of the plug to swivel 360 degrees. As is, it works well on an outlet with the grounding hole at the bottom. It might be a little awkward if the grounding hole was at the top or on an outlet mounted sideways. The yellow male end measures 2 1/16 inches wide, 4 1/4 inches tall, and 1 3/4 inches thick. Overall length is 36 inches.

Has worked great being outdoors for two seasons now, well this winter will be the second season anyhow. I converted an RV 30A plug to a normal household outlet via a conversion adapter sold on Amazon, then attached this GFCI extension chord hosting a 12 gauge extension chord to power a space heater on a dedicated circuit.

Solid piece of equipment

Good extension for my sump pump in the basement, existing outlet was not gfci and this works great so far, wish it cord was a bit longer on the connection part.!

I have only one outside plug which is on the other side of my home and it is not very convenient. I use this plug adapter in my dining room wall plug and run my12-guage extension cord out the door to run my leaf blowers and electric lawn mower. If the cord gets cut or damaged I'm protected from electrical shock when using this plug adapter. Before using, always press the top button on the adaptor to turn it on. There is a green light that glows indicating that the plug is ready to use. I've used mine for the past two seasons of leaf blowing and I've had no issues. Buy it for the peace of mind.

Liked the right angle. I think it will help for not loosing the ground. More evenlyon the plug itself. Time will tell

Works perfect

This is a simple way to add ground fault for anything related to the outdoors {like the yard} or old building {like garage or shop}. HOWEVER, to ensure this device works properly, the outlet you are using needs to be electrically grounded. If you are not sure, get someone who is qualified to do so and have it tested after it has been installed. One key feature is the right angle plug in. They stay connected in the outlet a lot better.
