A Win-Win for the whole family!
This stuff is delicious, creamy and oh so easy to make. We love it!I know this won't matter to a lot of people, but ... One of the great advantages of this soup is that you can make it as thick as you want or need to, and it doesn't taste too salty. We have a special needs adult son, and he has dysphasia which makes it difficult for his to swallow liquids. For years we've been crushing crackers into soups so that he can eat them (and Mama doesn't have to make them ALL from scratch.) And he hates those thickening agents. (I have to agree with him -- they're pretty gross!) Well, with this soup, you just reduce the water you add, and you can make it like a custard if you want, and it's Yummy! He loves it, and he can certainly use the calories. The rest of us just have it a soupier consistency, and we can all eat together.A win-win all around, for ALL of us!!

Very good flavor - a hearty soup!
I was worried this soup might be a little bland since potato soup can be that way sometimes. But oh my -- this soup has a really good flavor! The potato chunks are small, and the soup is thick. I’m terrible at identifying individual flavors in foods, so it’ll have to suffice to say it is well seasoned, whatever those seasonings are. You can adjust the consistency by adding more or less water than recommended. I followed the recommended amounts of water and mix on the label and it was the perfect consistency for me (a fairly thick soup). I made a small batch (2/3 cup mix and 2 1/2 cups water, which is 2 servings per the label) thinking that would be a big bowl for lunch. It was a little too big for one large serving, but I pushed through and managed to eat it all anyway. 🤣 I also added some shredded cheddar cheese on top. It was terrific for a cold winter day! In the future, I’ll experiment with some additional add-ins (not because the flavor isn’t good enough but because I like to change up textures and flavors sometimes), such as chopped green onion, leftover baked potatoes with the skin on, diced carrots, and/or diced celery. If you eat bacon, that would be very good too. I ordered one can to try it, and I just ordered two more to keep on hand.

Lifesaver After Surgery
This potato soup was a life saver after major surgery. I was limited to liquids only for a few weeks. I strained the potatoes and it still tasted great and was a good thick consistency. When I could progress to the next level in my diet I didn't strain it and it was such a treat. I think it is the best potato soup mix ever. Enjoy!

Great taste - especially for making clam chowder
I added a few of these cans to my emergency planning menu and shortly thereafter saw some reviews about using for clam chowder. Because it was on sale ($17.50/can vs. $35) and easily replaceable - I thought a good experiment might be in order. Thus far - I've made two batches of clam chowder - most of which I have divided and frozen for later use. For the first batch I made - I first sautéed in a large soup pot 1.c chopped onion, 1 c. chopped celery, minced garlic and olive oil for about 20 minutes, then added my water and whole milk in equal parts, then whisked in my August potato soup powder, and after the powder was fully mixed into the liquid - I added Snow's chopped and Snow's minced clams to the works. As the soup boiled - depending on consistency - I added a bit of Snow's Clam Juice (8 oz bottles) for better clam taste. The second time I made the soup - I sautéed the celery, onion and garlic in butter (not olive oil like I did for the first batch), then I added water and skim milk (vs. whole milk) in equal parts - but for this recipe I used 'clam base' (clam bouillon) instead of separate bottles of clam juice because I thought the clam flavoring in the broth needed to increase over the 1st batch I made. Because 'clam base' is a bit tough to find (Knorr sells by lots of 6-1 pound tubs) - I ended up using 'Assi Clam Soup Base' (Korean) that I found on Amazon for about $11. I only needed 3 tbsp from the 10.5 oz bag - (using a about half per instructions) since the Potato Soup already has salt in it. It worked like a charm. Both times - I used in total between 13-15 cups TOTAL liquid with 3.5 to 4 cups of soup powder. The first time I used about 1 cup celery and 1 cup onion - and the 2nd batch I increased the onion and celery because I like lots of stuff in my soup and because my 2nd batch was slightly larger. Same for the clams - I like clams in my chowder - so I used 3 (1st time)/4 cans (2nd time) of Snows chopped claims and 1 can minced clams for each batch. When cooling the soup afterwards in order to freeze or to serve later - make sure you keep stirring every 10-15 minutes or so until it is completely cool - or you will see a 'skin' form on the top. You can eat the 'skin' - but it doesn't present well if you are in to 'looks'.Regarding the Assi Clam Base - store the remaining base in a jar to keep it from getting hard. If you have an oxygen absorber (which all good prepares should have) - put one in the jar before sealing.Note: While the can says the soup is ready in 15 or so minutes - I let the soup simmer for over an hour to eliminate any chewiness from the potatoes. Just keep tasting along the way to check your content/taste/consistency.Now GO BUY SOME AND GET AN EXTRA CAN TO EXPIRAMENT!!!

Prep planning.good company reputation.
Have bot many Auguson Farms products for prep planning. I bot this soup to use as a base then add in protein, veggies, etc. Company has good reputation for good tasting, high quality products. I have not had any problems with deliveries or dented cans.

Easy Meal for One or More
OK, I am not a "survival prep person". I'm using this as a short cut to a quick meal. It is so easy and affordable. I love the comfort of home made soup but all the peeling and chopping (and tears from the onions) is a non starter most of the time. This soup has it all and takes just a few minutes. I can make a bowl for one person by adjusting the amount I want. I have found it is a little thicker than I want for soup so that is an easy fix. The shelf life is great. I am sure I will order this again.
