Having tried a few different brands of travel mug with varying success, I decided to give the Bodum mug a go. It's a decent size and will hold around the same amount of liquid as an average mug. The main part of the cup is clear, double wall plastic with a black silicone sleeve so that you can hold it without worrying about your hand slipping. The lid screws on and has a silicone seal to prevent leakage. On the top of the lid is a plastic 'arm' that can be swivelled into place. You can have it cover the drinking hole, which will then be sealed with a small silicone stopper, or out of the way while you drink. It clicks into place and won't move. The outer wall of the cup doesn't get too hot to hold even when it's filled with nearly boiling liquid. A hot drink will stay very hot for a long time once the lid is on and the stopper in place. I have two criticisms to make about this cup though. On top of the lid, to one side, is a tiny hole. I guess this is to prevent pressure build up inside the cup once the lid is screwed on and it serves the purpose well. However, even though the drinking hole is sealed with a stopper when the arm is clicked into place, the tiny steam hole is only covered and not sealed. By design, this will prevent pressure inside the cup, but it also means that if the cup is tipped over, some liquid will escape. The cup is not 100% leak proof. The other issue I have is that this hole often gets clogged, espeically if you're drinking something like hot chocolate. When you try to drink, you have to bear in mind that if this hole is blocked, the liquid can be hard to drink. I find blowing gently into the drinking hole can unblock the tiny vent and make drinking easier. The drinking hole is small and recessed into the lid. If you have a very hot drink in the cup, it can be difficult to control the flow into your mouth. If you put your tongue against the hole and tip the cup, the hot liquid will scald your tongue. If you just have your mouth over the hole and tip the cup, you can have enough hot liquid pour from the cup into your mouth, again scalding you slightly. This is all because you can't see the liquid in the cup while you drink and so it's impossible to guauge properly how far to tip before the liquid leaves the cup. This will make perfect sense when you scald your tongue or lips a few times! :) All in all, for the price, I'm very happy with the cup. The leaking isn't a big issue because the vent hole is tiny and not much liquid will escape if you drop or tip the cup. But, some will. Be careful drinking anything hot from it until you are used to the placement of the drinking hole.

Bought this to use when on holiday to cover hot and cold drinks keeps your gin and tonic or Prosecco cold in hot climates and take your favourite tea bags away from home

Absolutely phenomenal. Dunno what plastic it's made out of, but it's a double barrel and keeps warm for 5-6 hours plus. A gentleman made my tea last night and it stayed warm until 7:25, as I drink it now. It was sat in front of an open window in -1•C. Don't like plastic but they wont let me have glass in hospital. So, second best coffee cups. Except. Don't turn it on its side or upside down otherwise it might leak! Overall 4.8 stars. Nice lopling design as well :)

Handy if you want to use almost straight away as keeps warm for a short while. Bought to take coffee enroute to work so does that fine. Drinking spout could be better but guess we all vary in different ways. It was cheap and lid not leak proof, hence 3 stars as full filled my needs mostly.

I don't usually leave reviews but feel like I have to with this as it's a bit of a con (if you're after a travel mug which is meant to keep drinks hot at least). Main reason I got this was because it was double walled and supposedly keeps drinks hot and cold, one review I read even said it kept it warm for hours. Total rubbish, didn't last a 30 min journey from home to work. I've tried it with brews made at home, from cafes and even boiling water, simply doesn't keep warm let alone hot so don't be expecting that. Shocking from what's meant to be a good brand and I'll be returning for a refund.

The lid of the mug does not sit snugly on the body, making the mug useless for the stated purpose. Attempts to get a replacement have been unsuccessful. Very disappointed by the item and the consequent after sales service.

Der sieht schön aus, liegt gut in der Hand und erfüllt seine Zwecke. Ich glaube allerdings nicht dass er so lange warm hält, was von mir aber noch nicht erprobt wurde da ich mir morgens auf dem Weg zur Arbeit immer einen Kaffee mitnehme und der Weg nicht so lang ist
