I bought this portfolio for an interview and I am very pleased with the quality and appearance. It is simple, clean, elegant, and classy. I love that it can accommodate either a flip notebook like a regular padfolio or a sidebound notebook if that's your style. The leather is soft with low-profile class and quality. I'm the kind of person that tends to bring too much with me - if there are pockets to fill, you bet I'll find extra pens or notebooks or whatever to fill them with - and I like that this portfolio has just enough pockets for the essentials. The zipper is smooth and solid construction, and the stitching and materials are the of equal quality. I was apprehensive about spending so much on a portfolio without first being able to put my hands on it, but I am so glad I did. I have no doubt that this portfolio will add a level of subtle class and professional bearing to any first impression for anyone carrying it. I am very happy with my decision to go with this portfolio!

I am an attorney and needed a new folio to carry around and take with me to meetings and such when I do not have to carry a lot of documents. I did a lot of research and liked the Maruse Leather Padfolio the best and my wife got it for me as a Christmas gift. Been using it for a few days now and am very impressed. The leather feels top quality, and has a great leather smell (but very light so its not obvious). The workmanship is flawless. Even the notepad that comes inside looks and feels premium. I was initially concerned about the pen holder on the side because it did not fit slightly larger pens (like a Mont Blanc). However, after gently forcing the pen the leather stretched a bit and I am able to fit it smoothly. It fits tight so I do not have to worry about the pen falling out. Overall I am very impressed and pleased with this folio. It presents a very professional appearance at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend.

I have a leather Portfolio 14 years; it has two zippers, the regular one that closes the entire case, and one that closes an inner pocket. It is still usable but has a small hole that keys could fall out. Maruse Leather will take its place. For me, Maruse it is a good buy; it is elegant, classy, and durable. I should last a long time. My Acer notebook is a little long to fit. Of course I did not really buy it for a computer case. If Maruse had the inner pocket with zipper, I would have given it 5 stars. But overall, it is a good case. I don't complain about the price because it is real leather; for some folks that alone should kick it up to 5 stars.

The last Padfolio I owned lasted 15 years, living up to the Samsonite name...the zipper broke after 5. I paid half the price for that one and was disappointed they discontinued that design. Eventually I found this Gem, and boy it smells of quality...literally! The leather feel and aroma is out of this world. The zipper is a beefier design, adding a hint of ruggedness. It is simple, elegant but not too elegant. Everything,...the feel, the look, the craftsmanship is almost too good, hell it's just a portfolio. As with anything made with care using quality materials, you pay for it. However this will be the last one I will ever need.

Exceptional quality and beautiful finish. I looked for a long time and this folio is the best. Zipper keeps everything secure inside. The pocket organizers are the correct size for 8 1/2 x 11 paperwork and the business card cutouts are perfectly sized. I love that it has a pen holder as well as a note pad as well. The inside is also fully leather lined and excellent quality. It is obvious that it is Italian leather all around. It is soft and a rich hue. It looks and feels much more expensive than what it costs. I am a businessman and have just used this on several meetings overseas and it definitely received a lot of looks and comments!

Slightly larger than reported, which works well for me. Will fit a Manila envelope with tab designed for letter sized paper. Quality is the best I’ve ever seen in a portfolio.

Beautiful padfolio that isn’t quite fit for modern usage and doesn’t live up to the premium price. PROS Beautiful looking, leather cover, leather smell, exterior leather smooth not grainy, black color is as advertised, overall quality, zipper quality and function, no exterior branding, includes nice non-branded cream-colored pad of paper. CONS Higher price, no phone holder, no zippered interior pocket, no strap to secure item in largest pocket, largest pocket only expands on top, no padding in largest pocket, manila folder does not fit in largest pocket even when empty (tab sticks out and you can’t zip it shut), smaller pocket doesn’t expand (meant for flat object like paper rather than the phone that is shown), smaller pocket can hold an 8 1/2 x 11 paper but the paper won’t slide in and out smoothly without wrinkling, pen holder only works with thin pens, only one pen holder, pad of paper is not 8 1/2 x 11 as advertised (unusual dimensions that are the width of A4 but the length of 11), few soft or premium materials inside. I want to love this, but I don’t. And for a premium price, I expect it to function well. It lacks some basic design features inside. I don’t expect all of the missing items on the CONS list, or even all of the shortcomings on the list to be better, but I would expect it to have some utility. It simply doesn’t hold much and makes for a frustrating experience. Don’t monogram in case you need to return. You can monogram anywhere after the purchase.
