Still going strong
I bought this shoe horn in February 2022. It is now August of 2024, and it's still doing a great job after literally 100s of uses. It is rugged and a very high quality product. I cannot imagine I will ever need another shoe horn; this one is so durable.

VERY useful and cost was great
Used by myself and my disabled grandson - we both have issues trying to get down low to pull on boots and shoes. LOVED by us both

Reallly convenient
Works like a charm, bending just at just the right angle and with a nice handle extension, making putting on shoes effortless and one less struggle in my daily life. Seems to hold up well. I will say the handle extension slips but that doesn’t get in the way for me. Good price for a simple thing that makes my life easier.

It works well!
I just had a total left knee replacement and I ordered this to assist me while I recuperate from knee surgery. It worked so well that I actually bought 2 more, leaving 1 downstairs, and the other in our travel trailer.

Good construction, undesirable concept.
One big selling point is the flex spring. I find this to be its weakest link. I see no purpose for it. It just removes rigidity needed to get your foot in a shoe. All the reviews that say it doesn't work are wrong, it does, but you have to relearn how to use it because of the stupid flex. It is tricky at first. So 3 stars, because I don't want to relearn, and I would rather have a stiff shoehorn. Maybe I will weld the dumb spring.

Just bought a second one
I bought one of these a number of years ago and have used it daily since I got it. I love this thing. The only issue was that I had to remember to put it in my travel bag when traveling, which didn't always happen. I finally broke down and bought a second one to keep in my travel bag and it works absolutely as well as the first one while out and about.I like that this collapses down to a more manageable size for traveling, but expands out to be super useful for applying footwear.

The extension is long enough for me to use comfortably, while standing
THIS ROCKS!! The extension is long enough for me to use comfortably, while standing, and I'm 6'4"! There is a spring directly above the horn which permits it to change angles independently of the handle - it would appear that this feature has confused a few other posters here, so permit me to explain:I start with my shoes toe against the wall so they can't move. Place the extended horn into the shoe about an inch forward of the inside of the heel. Now place your foot in the shoe, pushing the toes forward, and slowly press down with the heel. Slowly start pulling the shoe horn upwards, as the heel settles into the shoe and you'll find that your shoe is now on with very little effort, and no broken down heels on the shoe!! The spring allows the horn to change angles effortlessly, without the need to change the angle of the extension - no bending or wiggling involved!

NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH BACK SURGERY!
I have ordered TWO of the metal shoe horns from Amazon in the past. One for my husband which I don't believe he's ever used. BUT, the 2nd one was for my father. He's had 6 back surgeries and the last 2 have been within 3 months. He's finally tried to use this shoe horn when he came home from the hospital and it won't work for him. He says it turns, it's not steady. So, I just went into my husband's closet & found the one that I bought for him and checked it out. My father is correct, the thing turns. He can't use it due to the turning of the rod that won't lock and the actual horn part that's flexible & keeps turning while trying to put a shoe on!!!! I can see how turning may be a problem for someone trying not to bend down or not being able to bend at all and then, the whole thing is turning in that process. If I had known how poorly this was made, I would have returned my husband's and not ordered another one for my father, but the return time has expired! DO NOT ORDER; SAVE YOUR MONEY.
