The Construction Alphabet Book (Jerry Pallotta's Alphabet Books) Review: Construction vehicles I didn't even know existed! - Most advanced truck alphabet book I know! I mean have you ever heard of a Knuckleboom loader? I certainly hadn't. However, I found myself running down the street pushing my 2 yr old in the stroller chasing the elusive Knuckleboom loader when we saw it. Creative, great drawings, have read it for years to my two boys. L is for LASER - Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. I mean come on! We can all learn something new. Review: Fun and with great realistic pictures! - My son is 20 months old, so a little younger than the target age for this book. We have had construction vehicles working on the road near us for a couple weeks and he is now obsessed with them. I got this book so he can still see all the big trucks when the road work is done. He sat through the entire book twice in a row earlier today. He loves the pictures and the sounds when I make the noises as written out on the pages! Great book!

One of THE best books I've seen
This has become my go-to book for gifts for children 2-5 though it could probably work for older kids too. I've given it so many times, and the kids always adore it. Not only does it help children learn the alphabet, they learn about many different types of construction equipment that they will then observe in daily life. It was educational for me as a parent too! My daughter and I have great conversations about the construction we see around thanks to this book. A construction professional I know commented on how impressed he was by it. Great for boys of course, but also terrific for girls - how often do they get construction books? Wonderful illustrations and writing. It also grows with the kids - they like it at 2, but can understand even more as they get older. And so affordable in a paperback. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

This is a beautiful, well-done
I bought these for my two grandsons for Christmas. This is a beautiful, well-done, engaging book! I wish I had had it for my sons so we could correctly name the various pieces of machinery that we saw around. "Real" books--about real life rather than some Disney cartoon--are a bit hard to find. And just try finding one that isn't dorky or girly about horses! --And that has correct information. I really don't know enough about this subject matter to know for sure that it is all completely on target, but it seems to be written by someone who actually knows. I'm really tired of books that teach children that baby horses are ponies or that horses are for girls. This book would be well enjoyed by either boys OR girls that wanted to know about all these things! YAY!!! Just a fine book. Three of my children do not have children of their own yet--but when they do, a copy of this book will be in each house! Jerry Pallotta--I'm looking for more of your books! Ooh, and I didn't check the illustrator's name--but it's a name I will look for as well.

Nice illustrations, nice sentences to read for youth. Little boys loved it.
I purchased this book for my son to read and use for a project. It has nice pictures and words were easy to read for him. I think some construction vehicles were left out, so the reason I didn't give 5 stars. I think it lacked in that respect. But it did have ones we never heard of before. Either way nice illustrations and words are easy to ready and not overbearing. I do not like books where the words are overpowering. This was a good choice.

Grandson memorized every word of this book
I got this out of the library and my 3 year old grandson wanted me to read it over and over again. I had to buy it for him.

Great book for kids interested in all things construction!
We live near a construction site that my 2.5 year old daughter is addicted to watching. This book is great! We now have the proper names for all of the machinery and equipment we see on the construction site and it does help her learn the alphabet. Ex: My daughter pointed out the letters 'm' and 'i' on my shirt--> "M for mobile rock crusher. I for impact hammer." I was astounded that she retained that knowledge from the book. Those are not run-of-the-mill words for a 2.5 year old. We have other alphabet books, but this one seems to garner her attention the most in terms of making letter associations, I assume because she is so interested in the subject matter. If your child loves heavy equipment then I definitely recommend this book. The illustrations are great and each piece of equipment is described to the appropriate level of detail. The book is very long, so she often cherry-picks it for bedtime reading to delay sleep.

wonderful
such a great book. I have a 5 year old that does not like going over letters and sounds and this has made review so much easier.
