Pretty Good
The Eve Room is solidly built and relatively attractive. Initial pairing was easy (the app even offers to use the camera to read the setup code). Immediately there are air quality, temperature and humidity readings...and lots of settings, most of them related to other Elgato/Homekit devices. The ecosystem looks powerful, but having only the one Eve Room, I can't comment on how well all the different devices and controls are integrated in a more complex HomeKit system. After you've accumulated a few weeks worth of data, you can start to analyze and look for patterns. Being a data nerd, I have some data presentation gripes: The data is smoothed according to the view: hour, day, week, month. I'd actually like to see the hourly fluctuations when I'm viewing by weeks, etc., or at least have the option to do so. Conversely, in the hour view, I can't scroll back through more than a few days--there is no way for me to see how warm it was at a particular hour last month. I could go further, wishing for historical average data plotted in the background, so I can see how today's fluctuations compare to the average, and I can imagine being able to set alerts based on exceeding some user defined thresholds. That said, the fact that I have access to all or most of the data to begin with is cool.I ran into a security issue when I upgraded my iPhone. My old 5S had to be manually disconnected from the Eve Room--not just powered off or out of range--before there was any sign of it on my 6S. This took me a little while to figure out. Because I couldn't discover the accessory on my new phone, I concluded that the Eve Room batteries had died and went down that road. I understand that you shouldn't be able to see which/how many devices are present and already connected to another user, but it would be cool if the app at least said, "Accessories found, but they're controlled by another user" or some such. It looks like there are provisions for having multiple users--I see that I can invite a user to share control of my HomeKit accessory--but I haven't tried it. Note: Currently, on the second iPhone, with app v1.1.2, I can't figure out how to set or change the room name. This worked on an earlier version of the app so I'm sure it will be fixed shortly. The device takes 2 AA batteries, and they can be monitored within the app. After a few months I can see that the batteries are at 66%. I didn't have any bluetooth range issues, though my house is small.

Works great for my uses!
I bought the Eve to track the various data that it collects (air quality, temperature, humidity) around my house. We don't have a full weather system, and our thermostat is located in one room on the main floor of our house, so I wanted to find out how hard our AC/heating unit will have to work at various times of the year. Also, the temps on our top floor vary greatly from our basement, and I wanted to track what the actual differences are.Setup was easy, I popped in the batteries and entered the setup code into the app on my phone. It found the device right away, and I set it up in our main room, just to start. I was able to measure the temps & humidity fairly quickly, but the air quality took a while to register, which is fine. After a couple of days, I moved the unit into the room where we have our cat box to see if it would register on the air quality meter - it doesn't smell very good, and I didn't know if it would affect the air quality. After a few days, it didn't seem too bad, so I moved the unit downstairs to check the basement temperature & humidity vs. the main floor. Definitely cooler down there! By about 10 degrees, on average. The air quality seems to be better down there as well. The humidity is all over the place, seeing as how we're in a high plains location - one day it's dry, the next it's more humid if we get afternoon rains. I don't really track humidity with this, but it might be interesting to check it in the wintertime.Probably the most difficulty I've had with the unit (which wasn't much at all) has been changing rooms in the app. I couldn't find where to add a room at first, but figured it out shortly. I was able to rename the room as well, which was a nice touch. It seems to keep the data for each day, even if you've changed the room. I guess I had expected it to start from scratch. Makes it nice when doing these types of comparisons, though!Overall, the device is providing me with the information I wanted, which is perfect. I may add to this review in the winter, when the temperatures & humidity will change even more.

It is quite useful in that it provides me with long-term historical data ...
I have a specific use case for a remote sensor: monitor temperature and humidity in a room off of our basement which has been designated as a meat curing room (salami, etc.). For such use, the room needs to stay within a certain temperature/humidity range for ideal curing to take place over potentially long periods of time. The Eve Room does just that. It is quite useful in that it provides me with long-term historical data on temperature and humidity, which I can compare against outdoor values over the same time period. This in turn allows me to select the best time of year to perform cures without having to worry about excessive temperature fouling the process. The remote thermo-hygrometer I had been using did not provide historical data (only current data) so the Eve Room fills that niche quite nicely. It is compact, stylish, and runs off of standard AA batteries. Setup was painless - I was off and running in a few minutes. The HomeKit integration is nice, though the Eve Room is currently the only HomeKit-enabled device I’m using at the moment. There are a couple of things I’d like to see improved with the Eve Room. One is that due to the limited range of Bluetooth, I have to go to that part of the house to synchronize data. Not a deal-breaker by any stretch, but I look forward to Elgato’s promised integration with Bluetooth range extenders, which should eliminate this issue. Another feature that would be nice to have is some kind of background alerting based on an arbitrary threshold. For example, it would be nice to know when temperatures are exceeding a desired maximum. Apparently, this functionality counts on HomeKit support for such devices, which will likely be implemented in iOS in a future update.Since I’ve had the Eve Room, I’ve seen updates to the IOS app which add functionality, so I’m confident that I’ll see some of the desired improvements with time.

Constantly failing to connect-update data
After 1year I can confirm that product is terrible. Poor range, constantly failing to connect-update data. Battery efficiency is very poor. Extremely overpriced, do not recommend.

Battery power very poor
Had this product nearly 2 months now and as for how it works...brilliant very satisfied but today asked me for new batteries not so brilliant after such a short amount of time surely a product like this should last at least a year or come with a plug in the power source option

Two Stars
Overpriced for function it provides.

Perfect for Air Quality, Temperature, & Humidity Logging, via remote access with Apple Homekit
Purchased 2 of these units to verify the Air Quality of my home, and to allow for proper adjustment of Floor vents for optimum heating/cooling.Currently Apple's Home kit/Siri does not support 'Telling" you what the Air Quality is for this device. It's a limitation of Apple Home Kit database that may/will be corrected in Apples next release. It will tell you the Temperature and Humidity with the current IOS release 9.0.I must emphasize that the App itself DOES provide all the data/graphs for Air Quality, Temperature, and Humidity, and allows for its sharing across multiple devices.(I share the data gathered from an iPad via bluetooth in one room, on another device via homekit without problems)The graphs and charts in the app itself are beautiful, and allow for summaries by Hour, Day,Week,Month. In addition, if you have multiple devices, you can display multiple graphics (On Above the other) to compare location data.Current limitations area) that it is not possible to set alarms or triggering of external events (ITTT) etc..b) It is not possible to extract the data itself (for off line use)As long as you are aware of the limitations, this device is definitely a 5 star purchase, and a bargain compared to higher priced products.

very cool. Batteries last about 3 months (3xAA) I like ...
Works very well, it precisely gives me the room temperature, humidity, and air quality. These are home kit compatible which means you can use it via Siri, you can ask for temperature or humidity and siri will answer you back, very cool. Batteries last about 3 months (3xAA) I like this product so much i bought 2 of them for the living room and master bedroom.Highly recommended for people who needs to monitor the air quality in a room.
