Why does it type so slowly on my ipadn

I cannot help you with this answer, as use the keyboard is used with my laptop. It connects through Bluetooth, so maybe your iPad could be the problem as I'm not having any problems at all.

I use this keyboard with my ipad, and had no probems with getting the wrong symbols until recently when it switched to a different mapping, " for @, etc. Easily solved by pressing FnQ for the IOS keyboard. I probably switched it inadvertently by pressing a different function key.
