MeccanoErector, Ferrari FXX-K, S.T.E.A.M. Model Building Kit, for Ages 10 and Up

Complicated enough that it took some time (2 hours-ish), but easy enough that my children cooperated and mentally worked through figuring things out. This was the first time in months that they did not argue and worked together for more than 30 minutes straight! I rated "easy to assemble" 3 stars on purpose, this product does encourage use of tools and develops manual dexterity, as well as develops motor skills and learning to following instructions. In my mind "easy to assemble" would be a bad thing.. I wanted a mental and physical challenge for my children, with a sense of accomplishment when it was done. The price was slightly expensive for what it was, possibly due to using the Ferrari name? I will admit my kids did know what a Ferrari was, so maybe that made it cooler as a first gift foray into the Meccano Erector brand. Hoping the Meccano Erector brand develops more into a competitor to the WAY overpriced Lego/OTHER version pushing STEM/ Robotics / Computer coding. Building THIS toy into an app/phone/wifi controlled car would be really cool, and much more durable!

My fourteen-year-old grandsons have outgrown Lego sets so we moved to Meccano. They are challenging, but have good directions with the tools included. Periodically one of my grandsons would get stumped and yell, "I'm done with this." And then in a few minutes he'd be back at it. He's now finished it.

Good quality kit, but did have to make few adjustments while building it. Looks awesome after completion. Not that easy to assemble.

Bought this for our 12 year old grandson. He started putting it together and couldn't stop until it was done. He called us to say he really enjoyed putting this together. Some of it was challenging but he enjoys challenges. It is very impressive when put together! Very happy we bought this.

This assembly kit was purchased for our grandson as a mind & dexterity fun project during this stay at home time. We don't have any results on assemble or following instructions at this time. Grampa said it looks like fun.

Excellent Christmas gift for 12 year old boy.

So far we are assembling a car it's got lots of screws, nuts and parts. The parts are all here and in good condition. We're happy with tools that come with it ...a quality product

This is my third or fourth Meccano model. It was fun to put together and it looks great.

El paquete llevo bien, tenia buen embalaje. Lo compre como regalo para un adulto. Es relativamente facil de armar, las instrucciones vienen claras y el tamaño fes un poco pequeño.Las piezas no son todas de metal solo las tuercas son de metal lo demas es plastico duro.Considero que es un buen detalle para aquellas personas que les gustan los carros ya que lo pueden usar de decoracion en un espacio.Espero poder encotrar otros modelos en un rango de precio similar ya que es un precio bastante accesible.

My son’s first Meccano set and it did not disappoint! He gave up all electronics and focused on building the car. He’s already bugging me for another set.
