Surprisingly effective
UPDATE: I have been using this for months now and love it. It barely stings to epilate my armpits now and my legs never hurt from the gadget. My skin is smoother and healthier and my shower routine is easier without shaving everything daily. I epilate every two weeks or once a week if i am putting effort in lol. Phenomenal device. Holds a charge well. Still super easy to clean. FIRST REVIEW: First time epilator here and I tried it on my legs first. I only had a little stubble but it really grabbed the hair and I was shocked by how smooth it left my legs. It even grabbed the finer hairs that my hard wax kit doesn’t get. I then tried it on my arm pits. Holy moly was it painful but that was because i had let that grow in a bit and there were so many hairs that it ripped out at once. I just did short little passes on my armpits till i got them both done. Incredible results if you can stomach the pain. I assume with epilation that the pain will become less as the follicles become used to it (that’s what happened to me with waxing and plucking at least). Fairly fast and definitely easy. Don’t get this if you can’t tolerate waxing because this is definitely more uncomfortable but the results are shockingly good.

I LOVE THIS THING!!!!
We’re on month 2/3 of the quarantine and my legs were looking like the wolfman’s!! I live in LA and it’s getting hot here already so I didn't want to wear pants and my years of waxing (mostly from terrible irritation from shaving) I didn’t want to undo with shaving. I have tried all home waxing - I have a little wax pot with both soft wax and hard wax - and sugar wax and prewaxed strips and I love this so much more than all those. Waxing at home is so messy and I am not a professional so it’s so hard for me to spread the wax! It’s incredibly messy and the prewaxed strips are okay but I was never in love. So I decided since it’s starting to get hot, I needed to do something so I ordered this! I had to wait about a week after I ordered this to actually receive it - so I had the whole week to stress and read about epilator pain. All of which is way overdramatized! I was super worried but hopeful! First of all, whoever said this is worse than childbirth is crazy. I haven’t had a child but since this just pinches a little - and once you get used to it it’s nothing - I find this hard to believe. I do not have a high pain tolerance but I have been getting my lower legs waxed for maybe 5 years now. (I’ve also had them sugared which I hated and thought was way more painful than this). (I did do my thighs as well which I both wax and shave and the hair is thicker and it did sting more there - just fyi - but definitely not much.) They recommend trimming the hair on your legs and I should have because the hair on my legs was super long - it was probably closer to 3 months that I had last had them waxed with the lockdowns - and the hair was probably an inch long (ick but let’s be honest it probably was). So I charged it up - and my boyfriend did a tiny bit on his leg. He made a face and I said - let me try this - and guess what?! It pinched a little but no more than getting waxed. Yes - waxing is faster but you’re doing this yourself. You control the speed. Also, I had super long leg hair (again ick but it is what it is). Here are my tips: - trim the hair down if it’s long - they recommend this so it doesn’t yank as much and just pulls from the root. I was lazy and didn’t do this and it was still fine. - use the gentle option. I started with this but by the end of my legs (on the first try - I bumped it up a little) - Start slow. - make sure and hold the skin taunt. I used a table (and ottoman when I switched legs and watched tv while doing this). Keeping your leg straight and taunt and using the other hand and tightening above the area you are doing is how you do this. If you don’t use the other hand and just go like you do with a razor - it will hurt more. The tighter you keep the skin the better. - make sure you go in the opposite direction that the hair grows. It seems like it all grows in one direction - it doesn’t - especially on the backs of your legs. - I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere but this is what I did to start! Use small strokes!!! Don’t go from one part of your leg to the other. I am sure you can do this in the future but when you first start - I recommend taking small strokes. You’ll get used to it and start taking longer and longer strokes. Trust me. - As with waxing, you probably want to put something on after to soothe them. I have sensitive skin and when waxing I get red bumps that go away in a couple hours. Same with this device. - Also, it not familiar with waxing - you usually get more ingrowns than with shaving. I imagine this is the case too with these. Use a scrub on your legs when you shower. I LOVE this thing! I love being able to do this myself and it’s pretty much painless (yes there is some pain but it’s definitely bearable and no more than waxing - in fact maybe even less). I saw someone say it stings and it does a little. And you get used to it. And you barely feel it at all. Seriously. I feel bad for my wax girl - because I’m not going back to waxing after this. I LOVE being able to do this myself (and you can touch up and not have to grow it out for as long) with the same results as waxing. My legs are so smooth!! I was seriously sooooo happy with this!

to flex or not to flex?
I bought this as a replacement. the old one was the same model but it stopped working. when I took the head off the old one, I could see one of the plastic gears had been ground down to nubs. it is a design issue. the plastic gears in the head need to be made of a more sturdy material. so I am docking one star. it may or may not be related to the flexible head, I'm not sure but we'll see. in the meantime I bought the non-flex version of this device at the store while I waited for my new flex to show up. let me tell you, the flex version is not worth the extra money at all. with either version of the device I was able to get everything, yes everything, below the neck and I did not see any difference at all with ease of use. the flexible head is a complete gimmick. either version will get the job done. and it is a big job. I am male and I have coarse hair down there. I use it on every nook and cranny every single day in the shower. you just have to be careful about avoiding catching skin folds, and maybe you need to pop a squat to really get the crack. there is an art to pulling the skin taught and maneuvering things so you don't catch folds. you can learn it if I can. I would recommend to not use the plastic guards that go over the roller. they're all junk and they just make it harder for the skin to contact the roller. it will be easier for you if you just take the guard off and forget about it. everything else in the package is also junk except maybe the shaving head. I wouldn't know because I don't use electric shavers. you also NEED to exfoliate vigorously before you use it, and you should use a toner solution and then a good lotion when you get out of the shower. there is a product called "Tend Skin" and you can cut it 30% with ordinary witch hazel. it works great as a toner and to help prevent bumps and ingrown hairs. you can get the rest of the ingrown hairs with a nice pair of tweezers or possibly a sewing needle if you're brave enough. the act of epilating will stop hurting after a week if you do it every day and stick to it, but an alcohol based toner might give you a surprise.

Ouch, but WOW! Fantastic little hair weapon.
Ok- so my neighbor recommended this to me while at the neighborhood pool. She got the $40 one that you have to have plugged in. I did my research, and thought- hmmm...if I’m going to do this- I’m going to do it right. So I got this one. And I am SO GLAD I INVESTED IN THIS. First- it’s cordless. You can use it in the tub/shower. Whatever. Second- the charge holds for almost 2 hours. Third- it comes with an adapter to use for your facial areas- like btwn brows or lip line/chin. I used this some on my underarm and it helped dramatically bc it’s so sensitive there- and I was able to get less at a time and it was more bearable and precise. (I plan on trying this in my super sensitive Netherlands area too.) I’m about 2-3 done with that area, and I did my bikini line Tuesday, and still no hairs as of Sunday. I’m smooth as a whistle. My legs- I almost forgot about them because in comparison to pain of the others, the legs were nothing...except around the ankle. Just apply some creme or gold bonds healing lotion afterwards on these areas and you’ll be good to go. The armpits have been the most “angry” at me afterwards. But again- the lotion helped tons. Wouldn’t recommend deodorant right after- it might sting. Overall- this thing is definitely worth it from my experience so far. (It has a light too) Not only are you silky smooth- but you feel like a bad A because you know what type of pain you are capable of going through. Ha. Voluntarily. I’d imagine it being like forcing yourself to stitch a wound up or something. It’s pretty brutal, so don’t go for it if pain isn’t your thing. You’ll box it up and send it back and say this thing sucks. But if you can tolerate a little hair growing for a week to get it to a good length, and then grit and bear it- you’ll be so proud of yourself. Beats having to go get waxed, or pluck them all.

Disappointed
I’m disappointed with this purchase and it wasn’t cheap! The epilator hurts and leaves a good amount of hair behind and it hurts to go over the same area multiple times. The shaver head was good! Until it wasn’t. The first couple uses it was great and got a really close shave. After maybe 3-5 uses on my bikini line it started to not shave as close and pull my hair. I stayed on top of cleaning the tool and heads and it’s still not holding up. Disappointing.

Best epilator I've ever used
I've tried nearly everything to remove hair. I've had epilators and I've thrown them out over the years because they hurt too bad. Lately my home IPL hasn't been doing anything - it is probably worn out and I just can't fathom spending another $500 on a replacement when it never really did much. The only thing that has worked in the past for semi-permanent hair removal was laser at a clinic/spa. But eventually as I've gotten older it still comes back. This epilator even on high speed- is gentler and removes even the shortest hairs. In the past my experiences with epilators were that they took forever and hurt so bad, I would give up. Just got this in the mail today so I charged it and decided to give it a run on my arm hair. I did this dry even though I know it would hurt less in the shower, but it was practically painless on my first try. I used the massage roller cap. Worth the price, but I do wonder if the non-flex precursers would be just as good. Update: There are definitely areas that hurt more than the arms, but honestly compared to my memories of previous epilators the pain is much less severe.

Works but unable to clean all hair out
This epilator works pretty well, but you are mot able to clean all the hair out. I have a lot of coarse thick body hair as a woman with PCOS. Like pubic hair stretching down inner thighs. That thickness of hair. My legs and thighs are like a warewolf. Even taking the head off, there is a corner of the tool on the right side that had a wierd plastic hump and all the hair keeps collecting there and unable to clean it out. My return policy just ended and now this item cannot be returned and has stopped spinning, thus not pulling out hair anymore. I bought it at the end of November 2022, its not February 2023. Thats a little over 3 months of use. Used it about 5 or 6 times total. And it does hurt, but after a few uses your skin adjusted to the pain. The hair grows in finer than after shaving, which also reduces the pain after multiple uses.

THIS IS IT and I’M NEVER GOING BACK
I’ve been using this epilator for 16 months now, and it’s the easiest, fastest, and most effective hair removal method for me. It’s not even 25% as anxiety-inducing and painful as waxing- anywhere on the body - and that was the first time. Now it's a breeze. Results are as good or better than waxing, it lasts just as long, and takes 1% as much time. No more cleaning up wax drips off everything , buying all the supplies, and scheduling the time to wax - or be faced with a last-minute emergency shave, and then waiting until the hair grows enough to wax again. Usually I epilate every 10-12 days, sometimes I’ll wait 14- 15 days, but you could use this more frequently if needed. In the time period between epilation sessions, if I notice a few errant hairs or a bit of stubble and it’s bothering me, it’s gone in seconds. A few tips: 1) Make sure you cleanse and dry your face before epilating. This is important to prevent sebum and face products from dirtying the epilation head, as well as to prevent them from clogging the pores where the hair is removed (zits). 2) If you’re concerned about pain, use an ice cube or ice pack wrapped in a couple paper towels to numb any sensitive area before you epilate. I use a wrapped ice cube on my upper lip and hold it there for 30 - 45 seconds. I quickly blot the area dry to remove any lingering moisture, and then I epilate the area. It takes less than a minute. 3) Remember to gently stretch the epilation area so the epilator can do its job effectively. For my upper lip, I’ve tried putting my tongue on top of my upper front teeth to expand the skin a bit. I’ve also placed my index and middle fingers of one hand on either side of my upper lip and gently spread the area that way. I think that works best. 4) For underarms, I raise my arm to the side (shoulder height) and bend my elbow so my hand is resting on my shoulder. In that position I can use my fingers to stretch the armpit, and epilate with my free hand. 5) Bikini area… this is where Cirque du Soleil skills come in handy. Whatever position keeps the area flat and enables you to see what you’re doing will work. A small mirror helps, as does epilating in small sections. 6) Legs are easy, like shaving at light speed. 7) If you experience any irritation, it’s temporary and of short duration- an hour or less, unlike waxing. What works for me is mixing a few drops of pure jojoba oil with a bit of aloe vera gel, and applying that to the area. It soothes the skin and eliminates any redness very quickly. Okay… now you’re ready!

Save you money and stick to the older cheaper model from Braun
I have been using the older model from Braun (5-895) for years. Thought I should upgrade. Wrong decision. This model works worse than the old model missing out a lot of hairs in between (even long ones)

The perfect epilator
I will never use any other epilator again. This one seemed like a big splurge when I bought it, but it is so much better than any other epilator I have ever used: smooth glide, easy to handle, easy to see, does a great job, no pain. The battery has held up very well with regular weekly use for more than two years.

Lo compré nuevo y me llegó usado
Fatal!!
