Fantastic addition
Absolutely fantastic pedal. Easy adjustments & smooth as butter. Very responsive. Great power with minimal effort & extremely good for Texas country or alternative/rock music. Nothing about this pedal feels as if they cut corners. Solid construction & doesn’t feel like a brick when you’re having to transport it.

Excellent Pedals
These pedals feel great and are very fast. I bought them mostly because I liked the old school design with the added bonus of direct drive and extra bracing. These pedals played well right out of the box but they can be easily adjusted with a drum key. The drive shaft is really not up to par with the pedals. The U-joints were tight with a lot of friction at first and then the friction soon became slack after a week or so. I replaced it with a Trick replacement drive shaft with ball bearings. Now the left pedal has absolutely no slack. The beaters are nice but they are very light and the pedals did not include shaft weights. I added a shaft weight right under the beater head and they get a great sound. These pedals are also too good for the nylon case they come with. Should have been hard shell. Overall I am very happy with these pedals. I could have bought some Axis pedals given the cost of the extra drive shaft but I feel I wound up better off with these Yamaha pedals.

Yamaha Quality with suggestion.
Nicely made, typical, Yamaha quality, slightly over priced, pedal, the longer footboard was nice, hardly noticeable, to me. It could really use a DW or SPL, softer, slightly "conical top"shaped spring (check the springs profile) and it'll rock, noticeably quicker response. Just my 70's "has been" but still playing drummer--maybe correct- opinion. In the end, it's operator discipline and practice that count. Maybe???

Great pedal for gigging
I've owned this pedal for a year now, and I'm still satisfied with it. I use it in a jazz context. I love this pedal, because it's just as smooth as the Yamaha FP-8500B, but it's lighter and more portable. It fits easily into a small backpack with my stick bag and Real Book. I'm already lugging around my cymbal bag, and sometimes my snare, so having a pedal that doesn't need it's own case is huge for me. I know DW is the industry standard, but it always takes me a while to set up those pedals properly. The Yamahas are great right out of the box. The only thing I adjusted was the tension. Honestly, most pedals at this price are well-designed. I chose Yamaha because I've had the best experiences with their build quality in general. I travel with this pedal three times a week and I've had no issues in a year (and no maintenance whatsoever). Each time I clip it to the bass drum, it feels and plays the same. A great value as far as I'm concerned.

Absolutely recommended!
Hell yes!!! I highly consider this pedal! Fast. Fast. Fast. I cant say it enough! I was hitting doubles right outa' the box. The elongated foot board is awesome. Looks awesome too and it never leaves your foot!😎 Super responsive, quiet and sturdy. I upgraded from an Iron Cobra200. I was looking at the 900 but didn't want all the extra options. Glad I held out and found this one.

If you want an awesome double bass pedal, look no further than this Yamaha DFP-9500D!
I received this pedal yesterday and immediately upon attaching it to my bass drum I was absolutely hooked. It is smooth as silk. The adjustments were easy and the pedal has just been performing flawlessly. The pedal boards are just the perfect size for any foot technique you want to use. By the end of the day I had already gotten used to the soft, smooth, quick response of the direct drive system on this pedal and I was banging out some heel/toe doubles like I was never able to do on my former Iron Cobra pedal. And the smooth surface of this pedal allows for great slide technique, as well, which was so hard for me on the I.C. pedal. I couldn't be happier with this pedal and I will probably never be able to go back to a chain drive pedal after feeling this direct drive pedal. And the deal that I got on the Amazon Warehouse deals couldn't make me happier. Thank you, Amazon.

It is worth the extra money to have a compatible pedal for your drums.

Pros -Sturdy construction -Straightforward, no frills design. If apple made drum hardware, this would be the IPedal. The Jojo M. Perfect balance pedal would be the iPedal max 💪🏻 -Smooth footboard. It’s shorter than footboards of other pedals in the range -Solid hinge. No play at all! -Light and very smooth feel -Pedal strap and bag included -Amazon.co.jp, great service. 4-day international shipping Cons -Design hasn’t changed since 2009. Spring holder still doesn’t swivel -Plastic bolts used on the spring assembly

Excelente pedal!
