Outstanding resource for understanding how to support students with ADHD in school
I am a huge fan of Cindy Goldrich's work with ADHD. I am a parent of a 12 year old boy who has truely suffered in school due to lack of education by school staff on ADHD/Executive Function Disorder. I bought this book both to inform the development of his IEP, and to prepare for the upcoming remote-learning school year. It is excellent - Cindy and Carly cover why a child with ADHD has struggles in certain areas (ie. challenges with feeling time, especially future events and how this effects innitiation and activation of certain tasks), and how exactly to support the development of these skills. As the author's say in the beginning of the book, there is a strong chance that due to the high prevelance of ADHD (nearly 10% of school-aged children have ADHD) there is most likely at least one child in every class who has it, yet teachers are (in my own experience) shockingly uneducated about it and how it manifests in academic and behavioral problems in classrooms. I highly recommend this book to both school staff and parents of children with ADHD! I have come out well ahead in helping my son after reading this book.

Excellent Resource for Teachers!
ADHD, Executive Function & Behavioral Challenges in the Classroom is a breath of fresh air. Finally, a book that speaks directly to teachers and addresses the confusion surrounding this topic. This guide for teachers is unique in its clarity and practicality, providing not only research-based explanations of the complex and variable presentations of ADHD and executive functions but a roadmap for addressing the related challenges in the classroom as well. The Goldriches include a plethora of activities for teachers to use in their classrooms to increase student self-awareness along with strategies for improvement. As a provider of professional development for educators on ADHD and Executive Function, I will definitely utilize this book in my courses. It answers many of the questions posed by teachers, including those new to the profession and long-time veterans of the classroom. Great for teachers and parents!
I got this book yesterday, have already read it, and bought extra copies! I’m going to be gifting it to my son’s teacher each year going forward. This book is affirming to teachers, parents, and ADHD kiddos. Not only that, it is full of practical exercises and activities that can be very easily used at home and/or in school to build skills. This book makes me feel hopeful.

Great book. Enjoy learning how to help my students with ADHD. This book has a lot of great tips with helping students in areas that deal with executive functions. Wish I would have known about this book earlier in my career. Highly recommend it.
