Good Option for Toddler
We tried several different options our 22 month daughter old this summer and the learn to swim tube was by far the best. The infant life vest flipped her over on her back, the seated infant float we had from the prior summer was too constricting, the swim vest we used with our preschooler didn't give her the stability she needed, and she pulled off arm band floaties. The tube swim trainer was great in that it kept her relatively upright and at the same time allowed her to lean forward a bit and kick her way all over the pool. After a few outings with the tube she was moving herself around independently and having a blast. Unlike the super stable Swimways baby float, the tube does require the child to be able to balance themselves a little (she tipped her face into the water at first), but it is definitely more stable than a Power Swmr vest. She's about 28 lbs and the tube was a little big, but not terribly so. I can't imagine using it with a kid much over 3 unless they were very petite. No problems with leaks so far.

Build confidence in the water
We started using this on our almost 2-year-old in our pool and he has grown and gained so much confidence with this product. He spins around, kicks his legs, tilts his head/ body back to float as well. With this ring on our son, really tries to mimic the swimming that he sees from the people around him. It’s a great product. I do want to add that we are always an arm’s length away because this product is not a life saving device.

Works Great, but not for independent play for non swimming child.
This works really well! But of course, this is not something you could just put a baby or toddler in and leave them to "swim" on their own with. And I would NEVER leave or even take my hands off our 18 month old in this swim tube. Which seems like a no brainer, who would leave a child unattended in a pool. But, what I mean is I wouldn't turn my back or take my hands off her for a second with this as her floatation device. Where as I am happy to let my 5 year old strap on a real life jacket and jump in the pool on his whim. This swim tube keeps her buoyant and lets her have some freedom, as she isn't being held constantly right on our hip in the water. But it is still easy for her to tip forward or back with no way to right herself. In fact if you let go of this tube, that is really what it wants to do as soon as she starts moving around…either tip her on to her belly or her back. As far as really teaching her to swim, I think this would hinder that process more than help it, as it restricts the movement needed to learn to swim too much.So for bobbing around in the pool with mom and dad with hands on her, this is great. Gives her enough freedom to feel like she is really in the water (not just floating on top). It is a good transition piece of swim gear between baby floatation devices and complete independent swimming. She LOVES it and it's clearly comfortable for her! And it does stay on very nicely! Also the Rubber tube is industrial strength…seriously like tractor tire inner tube! Great Quality product for sure!Just don't think this is like a life jacket, or something that is going to allow independent swimming for a child that does not know how to swim yet. I would absolutely be strapping a real life jacket on her if I was to have her out of the pool and just walking around if she was near the pool at all. It is not created to be a safety device for a child should they have it on and fall into water.Over all great product. Would definitely buy again!

It fell apart and then popped after 4-5 uses!
We loved this tube... until it fell apart! We only used it about 4 - 5 times before the Velcro fell off and then the tube popped for no apparent reason. My sister in law has a very similar tube that she has been using for the last 5 years with her three kids, so it's a shame that this one is so obviously poorly made and defective. It works great unti it falls apart!

Works as a swimming tool
We had these when our children were young and learning to swim and loved them. We recently purchased one for our 20 month grand child to try to build confidence in the pool. They were tentative at first, but caught are quickly and love to get in the pool with this over a life jacket or a floats. We ended up purchasing another one for another grandchild after such good success with the first. This is good quality material and the only complaint I have is there the strap on the bottom isn’t one piece. There is Velcro. It’s a cool idea to put there for the idea that it can move for different sizes of children using it. I see why they did it for that reason, but I would prefer one piece. I can always sew it together in the future. The Velcro seems to be strong enough that it won’t pull apart during swimming. It fits fine and is easy enough to get on and off.We haven’t had any issues with air leakage. It inflates easily.

The Ultimate Love/Hate Relationship
My wife and I got our first last year and really liked it. Our daughter was just over a year old. Went to use it this year and it leaked. Even though I would expect to get more than a season out of it, with how pleased we were we didn't hesitate to immediately order another. Well that one made it 3 weeks before it began leaking. Our now two year old was as comfortable as could be wearing this, spinning around, splashing, swimming - very comfortable on her own. Excellent upright support. With her birthday this weekend and no local retailers I now find myself in the position of having to order another online with expedited shipping. For us, yes, it is that good when it stays inflated. 5 Stars there. 0 stars for durability. I contacted the company directly and discussed that they have an excellent concept and product that I would happily pay much more for if it were made better. They did say they have a 12 month guarantee and that I could return it. I will try that route but it won't help with my need for the next few weeks. I'm hopeful next year she'll be ready to graduate to something else....
