The Good:1. A little goes a long ways. After one month of use this bar looks like it’s the same exact size to me lol! This thing really lasts!!2. $18 seems like a lot to spend on conditioner but considering we can’t tell if it’s changed in size after one month; that means the price point is actually really good!3. It does a good job.4. It smells absolutely amazing!5. I’ve had no issues with this conditioner bar.The Bad:1. When you first use it in the shower you can’t tell if it’s working or not lol. I conditioned my hair several times before deciding to give up and see what happens when it dries lol. I’ve used my ethique shampoo with conditioner and without and the bar does work. It does condition. it’s very unique though, and takes some adjusting.2. Ethique shampoo bar is so good that I rarely have to use my conditioner bar. I notice a difference in my hair after. My hair is less frizzy when I use this bar. It’s not a necessary purchase because of this but I do love my conditioner bar regardless.... but... My hair is silky smooth, healthy, Shiny and is amazing both with and without the conditioner honestly. 🤷🏻‍♀️3. Most of the negative reviews that I read were about the bars not lasting. $18 a month on conditioner was not going to be a feasible monthly buy for me. I have a corner shelf in my shower that is away from direct water but does not protect the bars from moisture. We’ve been using our bars for a month. (two adults using it every other day to every three days). In my opinion it looks like it did when I just took it out of the box lol. But.., I can see how this would be frustrating for people who doesn’t have a corner shelf, don’t want to buy the bar storage containers, can’t afford them, or anyone that just can’t deal with idea of moving the bars in and out of the shower with every use.4. I use this bar the guardian conditioner, with heali kewi. For whatever reason my hair takes almost twice as long to dry sense I’ve switched to ethique. It may be my hair type but I can see how this could be problematic for others. Especially people with very curly hair. If you are concerned about this I recommend getting their sample pack.... although paying $16 for samples that you don’t know if you’ll like or not is a bit much in my opinion. I have seen a lot of amazing reviews from very curly haired people for the sweet and spicy ethique bar. The salt is supposed to be helpful. Since my curl pattern is restoring I do plan on trying that bar next, myself. I have washed my hair with just their shampoo bar(heali kewi) without the conditioner bar and it took a little bit longer to dry but not much longer. In my opinion if you have curly hair and need it to dry quickly this may be an issue for you. this product may not make you happy.5. Because this product restores curling patterns on some people and causes tighter bouncier curls for other people who are trying to tame their curls this may be problematic.Helpful info: the pic is of the bars after one month of use. The conditioner Bar comes out about half the size of the shampoo bar if not 1/3 but it also has not been used up in my opinion nearly at all. It’s the same size as far as I can tell from when I opened it! It has even kept its perfect shape compared to the shampoo bar that you can more easily tell has been used!

Absolutely love this conditioner bar. Knowing the proper technique to apply to your hair is key, but this stuff really works! I have very long and thick hair, this makes my hair so soft and feels amazing! Not greasy at all, my hair feels clean and healthy after use! Excited to try their shampoo bar next!

I have been using Ethique shampoo and conditioner bars since August. I had started the Curly Girl Method at the beginning of 2019, so I was using so many bottles of conditioner every other month. I took a chance on this bar (out of the sampler pack) and it was love at first wash. I love the green color, the smell is so fresh and clean, and it leaves my hair soft for DAYS without additional product. It is a weird first experience, rubbing a bar of soap in your hair, but over time you get used to it. I find if I wash my hair at least twice a week, detangling doesn’t take too long using just The Guardian. I do wish, for the price, that the conditioner bar was bigger than the shampoo bar. I use Frizz Wrangler on only my roots, so it just doesn’t make sense to me that the shampoo bar is twice the size of the conditioner bar. The instructions for The Guardian say to swipe it over your ends five times but that would not be realistic for my thick, long, wavy hair. That being said, I bought both full size bars in October and they are still pretty big! I don't see myself NOT buying Ethique shampoo or conditioner bars for years to come. Their website shows what goes into their products and why, and I really appreciate that transparency. If you’re looking for a quality product and/or minimizing your plastic waste, I highly recommend trying this brand.

It makes my hair soft , shiny and manageable. It's easy to use and I really like the minimal waste.

This is the first brand of bar shampoo and conditioner that I’ve used, and I don’t know if I’ll ever go back! After a bit of research, I heard great things about this brand and all of them were true! Both products are extremely easy to use, smell great, and leave my hair feeling soft and healthy.

This conditioner bar is okay, but I find it difficult to use. It does not lather and requires work to apply it to my hair. I wrap my hair around the bar and rub with water, then rebunch my hair around the bar and repeat until I have it applied to all my hair. It then works and feels like regular conditioner, but it takes a lot of effort to adequately apply it. When I take the time to thoroughly apply it, it does leave my hair tangled-free and soft. I like that the bar is Palm-oil free. I wish the bar was a little larger, but it has lasted longer than I expected. I store it in a metal rack style soap holder so it dries between uses and doesn’t dissolve.

I'm usually okay with fragrance in my hair products and really love the Ethique Pinkalicious fragrance in particular. But on days I have a migraine, limiting fragrance - especially fragrance near my face and head - is ideal. This fragrance free conditioner gets the job done for my hair - it isn't the BEST for me, but it does work and causes me no issues. I also love that a bar like this means no plastic, and no paying to ship water. These conditioner bars last forever, too - just keep them out of the stream of water.
