This historic translation is in 17th century English. It will be difficult to read and understand for most modern English speakers. However this translation is famous and loved by some scholars and theologians, so if that is your thing, go for it. There are better, much more readable translations available here on Amazon for the average person.

This is a very important work by John Calvin. It is essential for every Christian to learn from a work written centuries ago about the clarity of the Word of God. How many people in our time cannot understand even the basics of the Bible for a pure lack of study! Calvin writes clearly about every important biblical doctrine. It is a must read. This Kindle version is excellent, with links to notes and also to the Bible (included).

Many who would call themselves "Reformed" have not read this work. What an important work to read if you are going to call yourself a "Calvinist." Be sure you agree with the man himself instead of with others have said about him.

America would be a much less free nation were it not for John Calvin. The founding citizens of America were all Calvinists, or heavily influenced by Calvin. He's the best exegete of Scripture in the last 400 years if not longer.
