Great Guide, Could Use Some Visuals
This book is a very comprehensive, easy-to-understand guide to everything you need to know to pass the NASM exam. From human anatomy to assessing client to growing your career as a certified personal trainer, the CPT Test Prep Team has covered pretty much every minuscule detail of this topic. It is fairly long—about 253 pages—but the writing is surprisingly easy to follow, seems to have been thoroughly proofread, and flows very well. Of course, there are some scientific terms used when discussing human anatomy, but that’s to be expected with a guide to this sort of subject. Otherwise, the language the author uses is simple and even readers without any knowledge of the CPT profession can read it without many problems.I do have one qualm with this guide, though. While it is well organized and in-depth and the sample test questions are very helpful, I think this book could have done better in helping readers remember all of this information. Namely, I would have preferred it if the text had been accompanied by some visuals such as graphs, diagrams of how the different parts of the body interact, and so on. The text on its own does a great job in teaching or reminding the reader about different aspects of the CPT profession. Regardless, many people are visual learners and pictures would get the information to stick in the readers’ head much more easily, especially when it comes to the domain on human anatomy. All in all, this book is great for test prep. It’s concise but thorough and discusses everything it should in order to get readers prepared for the NASM exam. Better yet, it’s easy enough to understand that you don’t even need to know anything about certified personal trainers in order to jump right in, although I definitely recommend researching the profession first before spending any many on test prep. I’m guessing that this work will become the starting block for the careers of many of the next generation of CPTs.

DO NOT DO IT.
This book is full of typos, questions that do not make any sense or are applicable. It was a waste of money. I do not know why these reviews are soo good for this book. I am here to say, this is not the way to go. It will confuse you and frustrate you. You have been warned.

Organized and easy to follow exam prep
Excellent exam prep. Very organized and detailed explanations for each question. I didn't feel lost exploring the book. The answers were easy to find and I didn't spend a lot of time looking up why I got an answer incorrect.

Not sure how reliable
I just started looking at this so not sure yet but noticed right away during a quiz a spelling error on page 85 question 4. Selection “a”. The word “job” instead of “jog” appears. Not sure I trust this book.

Good resource, weird question phrasing
Good resource for studying. The only thing I’m not crazy about is how the practice questions are worded. Compared to the quizzes on nasm.org, the phrasing is just a little weird.
