Converts Old TV to Smart TV
To my surprise, I found it to be very cheap, very good performance, clear image quality, easy to set up features, and a perfect Google Play store. You can download more than 1000 apps and easily connect to your old TV with an AV cable. Even in some well-known brands, syncing and viewing photos with your phone is a great feature. Overall very satisfied with the product.

X98 mini Android with ok performance
Great box and works great. A bit slow starting up. However it works great for streaming, youtube, Netflix, and web browsing. Only major problem is that it over heats and freeze up a lot. In winter I like it cold so it does well. In summer issue more apparent. Maybe adding a fan would fix issue. But great for the price

the box crashes all the time
The media could not be loaded. X96 Air, has a problem with the WIFI antenna inside the box, it is stuck to the lid with glue initially but after a while, with the heat from the box, the glue does not work and the antenna is loose which makes the box reboot indinitely, unless you switch the WIFI off in setting and use ethernet the box is useless using wifi.there are solutions on the net telling you to stick the antenna back with blue or double sided tape, but my advice is do not touch it, it is very delicate antenna and if not put properly and carefully will render the box useless.personally i would buy a different one.

Android for TV but not Android TV
There's a lot to like in the spec for this box but it just doesn't quite work as a set top box. It does have gigabit ethernet and all the rest of the spec seems right. There's a decent amount of storage space too. So what are the issues?Firstly, it's Android and not Android TV. I have to point the blame at Google here for naming "Android TV" rather ambiguously when there were already devices for TV running Android. What's the difference? Well, Android is aimed at phones and tables and rather assumes a touchscreen interface. It's possible to get round it with a combination of remote, keyboard and mouse but it's regularly frustrating. Android TV is intended to be used with a remote like this. Some apps are not yet compatible with Android TV but will install on this box since it is Android. Confusingly, Netflix will not install from the store because it is not compatible. There is a Netflix app pre-installed on the box and it does work after you decline the offer to upgrade which then fails.Amazon Prime Video can be installed but the video quality is very noticeably more blocky (on a 4k UHD source with a 1080p display) than it is on a web browser in Windows or the Amazon app on an Nvidia Shield (Android TV).Plex will work but it seems to require that you disable the "new video player" in Settings > Advanced or it not only doesn't work but pretty much takes down your Plex server too.A minor thing but you cannot change the YouTube, Netflix, KD Play and Google Play shortcuts that take pride of place on the launcher screen (which is MediaBox if you're interested). If you're after a box for other things, this may be for you - it's got the power (at least on paper) and it's cheap - but if you want it for a slick TV experience that your family can control without frayed tempers, then this is going to disappoint.

What you need to know
S905X3 TICK / 64GB of Storage TICK / 4GB of Ram ? did not checkBUT - Android 9 on TV boxes without the right firmware = A FLAWED DESIGN. There is no bottom navigation bar - so good luck closing APP's or easy navigation, you can install a work around via 3rd party APPs, but it's far from ideal and still leaves you feeling short changed. Then this box uses a launcher that is also pretty poor compared to some, so I installed another launcher which also had issues running on this box / firmware / OS. Android 7.1 was much more useable on these boxes in general. So yes it's snappy - but be prepared to put in a lot of work to get it working the way you would want it to or in the way you would think it should. Also my TV is 4K and other boxes using the same HDMI lead would output 4K, but this box seems only able to go to 1080p and trust me, I do know what I'm doing, there is no setting in any of the display menus to output in more than 1080p. So marketing is one thing, but this box on current firmware and Android 9 SUCKS, if you ask me. Great hardware for the price, but bad buggy software let's it down. I would rather have an s912 box with good firmware and lower spec ram / storage and 7.1 Android than this.

Best Android TV box so far
Compared to the other three I previously owned this one is providing the best overall experience. Google play store is not limited so you can install virtually any app you might wish. The only drawback would be the remote which I replaced with an full keyboard air mouse remote controller.

Decent
As far as an Android box goes this is really decent.I would definitely buy another air mouse though as the standard controller isn't an air mouse. Also the software feels a little bit hacked together and a limited version of a full Android interface.Still, all the apps work as expected and it's a fast little box that can play nearly all games with decent frame rates.People that know what they want from these boxes will find little to fault with this.If you don't know why you want an Android box, don't complain if you don't know what you are doing with it.
