i used to buy a kid's ballcap to fit my small adult head so since a few reviews mentioned it big for a child thought i'd try. i have good amount of back length wavy hair & it did fit inside ok. wanted to try to sleep in this to alleviate the sleeping task and knotting of long hair & my hubby rolling on it- ouch. i'd say it has a normal snugness to stay on and not tight, but i have a sensitive head with migraines & headaches so this is just a tad too much for my overly sensitive head, otherwise i feel it would likely be comfortable for a non-sensitive small head adult.
