I have 2 of the original arlo and 1 arlo pro. if i buy the new base station and arlo pro 3, will my older cameras work with the new base station?

So the Pro 3 doesn't include free 7-day cloud storage like the Pro 2, even using the existing base station?

Every Arlo Pro 3 kit comes with a 3-month trial of Arlo Smart. Users of Arlo Pro 3 can enjoy 2k content without a subscription. You can use 2K by local live streaming or recording 2k motion content onto a USB device when inserted into an Arlo SmartHub. We recommend you purchase an add on service to store 2K, motion-activated clips to the Arlo Cloud for easy access anywhere your mobile app has a data connection. ^KN

Arlo Ultra and Pro 3 kits currently come with a trial to Arlo Smart. When the trial expires, you have the option to sign up for an Arlo Smart plan. You can also choose not to have a service plan. an this be used without wifi?  i don't want to hook up it to my home wifi.

Simply put, you must use wi-fi. The camera goes to the base, then it’s uploaded to the cloud, then downloaded to the base and read on your phone or computer.

Most ISPs sell great download speeds; mine is 400Gps. But, it’s the sorry upload speeds, especially from cable companies, that kills your quick viewing of the recordings. My upload is only 20Gps.  The alarm that there is motion is very quick. It’s that up and down to the cloud of the video that’s annoying. I would guess a shorter video time might speed it up, but I use 30 second videos.

But, you can’t use without WiFi. There is no storage built into the base. HOWEVER, there is a USB port on the base. Automatic recordings, not manual ones, can be recorded both to the cloud and to the USB storage. If your internet goes down, it’s supposed to be duplicated locally as long as there is power.

That said, how can your phone or computer get to the storage if it’s not connected to WiFi? I’m going to play with that this week to see.
