Amazing EDC or survival knife
I was really impressed when I opened the box. Lets start with the looks. The esthetics of the knife are great. The black G10 handle with orange handleliner (which I assume is also G10) looks great, and to have a matching Ferro rod and stiker handle is definitely a bonus. The sheath is vaccum molded kydex which is very durable and easy to maintain. The ferro rod and striker attached to the sheath in their own seperate compartments, but more importantly they fit snug in their compartments. The belt clip is high quality and can be positioned so you knife is vertical or horizontal on your belt and can easily be switch with removing 2 screws (and they give you a tool to do it.Now on to the knifeThe knife is made from high carbon which makes it great for any scenario in which you may need a knife. The thick spine is perfect for batoning kindling wood while camping. It also has a sharp 90 degree spine which since it is made from 1095 high carbon steel means you can use the spine of your knife on the ferro rod when you hands are cold and the striker would be hard to use. The straight spine hunter profile makes it easy to use in the vast majority of you knife needs in the woods. Although I am not a fan of secondary bevels one most knifes the second bevel is high enough that it won't impact most intricate cutting but is still there to support the spine and give it a good weight. The handle shape is comfortable and has a decent swell in the palm area for knife retention while cutting or batoning but it is not shaped in a manner that only allows for forward cutting. The handle material is mechanical fastened to the full tang with Colby bolts so there is no way the material will come off or loosen after time.I am sure I missed a thing or two in this review but I will edit it later. I must say that I have not use the knife yet and I do not torture test my knives but it went directly in to my EDC bag and will be tested soon. I if find something I don't like I will make sure to update this review. As a knifemaker and knifesmith I could not believe the quality for the price. Receiving a knife as a gift I am always reluctant to use it because I have my own that I have made but I am definitely going to use this knife as much as possible due to the fact that my sons got it for me.I highly recommend this knife for people new to bushcraft and to bushcraft veterans. Just know high carbon steel will rust if it is not cares for properly.I had never heard of holtzman knives before but I will be checking out their product line very soon.

Top of the Line
This knife has a look and feel That is exceptional. It fits the hand very well and you can tell that it is heavy duty and would not break easily. If you break this knife, you’ve really done something. The knife came very sharp, and it has held its edge very well. I carry this knife with me all the time and use it constantly.. If you’re not used to a sharp knife, be very very careful. This thing has a great edge. I also like the fact that this knife is made in America by a family business. I had a small problem with the belt clip and emailed the company. They immediately took care of the problem by sending me a new belt clip. I want to make sure people understand— customer service like this is hard to find these days. A family owned business that cares about its customers.— I will be buying more

Great knife. Poorly formed sheath.
Love the knife. Super sharp. I adorned the red accents with more red after slicing a finger, severing a tendon that required surgery to fix.My only gripe is the sheath. It has a strap to retain plus kydex retention. I know better and knew better at the time but did it anyway. The knife got stuck in the sheath. I used a flathead screwdriver to twist and open the area of retention. It stretched the kydex but the knife was still stuck. I pulled too much then corrected and got two fingers. Again, I knew better.Everything is super attractive. The knife is razor sharp. I’m very happy with the purchase and would buy again. I’m going to do a little surgery on the sheath with a dremel to remove most of the kydex retention and rely on the strap once I have use of my hand again. If you buy, use caution. Don’t repeat my mistake.

The knife/sheath I received was defective and resulted in a trip to the Emergency Room
UPDATE: I have changed my rating from 1 star to 5 stars for the following reasons: Customer service at Holtzman Gorilla Survival is exceptional. After I had received the defective knife and sheath, they immediately contacted me to apologize and see what could be done to remedy the situation. They ended up sending me a replacement knife & sheath which I absolutely am impressed with. This is an amazingly nice product from a conscience, top-of-line company. I highly recommend this knife and doing business with Holtzman Gorilla Survival. The knife/sheath I received was defective. When the knife is fully inserted into the the sheath, it is EXTREMELY difficult to remove, if you can remove it at all. I tried to remove the knife from the sheath for 10 minutes before finally getting frustrated and giving it one more great tug to get it out. The knife did come out, but also sliced my finger enough to require a trip to the Emergency Room to get stitches. Now, I can't blame the knife for getting cut, that was my own fault. But I can declare that this knife/sheath is defective because of the extreme difficulty to remove the knife from the sheath. Be very careful!

Crazy good
I've had a few knives over the years and have always been unable to take proper care of my things, so I was hesitant to try again especially with a "real" knife that costs enough to care. I have neglected the hell out of this thing and used it for things I really shouldn't have, and it just doesn't seem to mind. Once in a blue moon I almost literally throw some coconut oil on it and it's fine.
