Cheap and cheerful
Does what it’s supposed to do and is easy to useThe sync to strava process is not that seem less it’s slow but it does work that was my reason to buy itI can’t see the clock distance travelled and ride time all on the same screen which is annoying but not the end of the world annoyingOther than that on a budget I highly recommend this

Basic but efficient, with the added bonus of having GPS
It’s quite possible I’m not as good with tech than I thought I was but after two rides I realised that the ride information hadn’t saved anywhere. To be clear the Xoss G+ wasn’t connected to my phone and at the end of the ride I just turned the unit off half-expecting it to save automatically.I fairness I bought this particular unit for one reason: the information it could provide while riding. I wanted to know two things during a ride namely my approximate speed (using GPS) and the distance covered which I think is determined by inputting the tyre diameter. One bonus feature was being able to connect to my Garmin Vivosmart watch and see my heart rate displayed on the screen in front of me.Other than my specific problem this item is good at what it does, especially for its amazing price, and has piqued my interest in bike computers generally. I may consider using this on my simple town bike while investing in something (much) more expensive for bigger, longer or trail rides on my electric bike, such as the Garmin Edge 530.

A Real Winner
If you're of a certain age you'll remember a time before GPS when we relied on bicycle computers with wheel magnets and sensors, not satellites, to log our rides. Now GPS is available for less than a wireless Cateye traditional computer. Think of this as a GPS enabled traditional computer, it has all the features of a Bontrager Node but it tracks via satellite. There's no mapping, no route guidance, and no training stuff, just plain metrics from speed to elevation gain. The unit is as well made as a Cateye for example and is genuinely simple to set up , it connects to the Xoss app and ANT+ sensors effortlessly and found satellites in a few seconds. In use it never missed a beat and was easy to read even with my poor eyesight. If you want bells and whistles or advanced GPS features look elsewhere, otherwise this could be for you.PS. Upload of data post ride to the app takes a while but that is no issue for me.

So slow at finding a GPS signal it is not usable
When I received this the outer packaging looked very worn and old - like it had been on the shelf for a long time. The device is nice enough it comes with a 'demo' screen protection film you just peel off and in the bottom of the packaging is the plastic mount, rubber insert, 2 x rubber bands, charging cable and tiny instruction manual. To use the mount you need to insert the rubber into the back and hold it on your handlebars then hook on and stretch each rubber band round to the apposing hook - forming a X shape. This gives you two rubber bands holding the mount in place. To attach the device you insert it into the mount and rotate it a quarter turn to lock in place. It locks very securely to the point of not wanting to come back off. I had to remove the whole thing from the bike and use some force to get it back off. To me the mount seemed clearly an after thought and is really not adequate at-all. It is compatible with garmin mounts so if you want to use this a lot i suggest getting one of those. To install the XOSS app you can just scan the QR code on the box and it installs easily. I installed the app on my iPhone and was paired up with the XOSS cycle computer very quickly. You can select mph or kph and sync with strava to auto upload your rides. So far everything was working ok. To turn on the device you press and hold the right button - its beeps and comes to life. To start the gps you press the left button and it will start searching for a gps signal. This is were it all fell down as mine searched and searched and searched. I became concerned that in the hour I had cycled to the forest to test this device there has been an apocalyptic disaster and global positioning satellites had been destroyed but no it just couldn't find any. After 5 minutes of staring at the flashing gps icon I cycled off and left it searching. Nearly 30 minutes later I decided to head home - annoyed my ride would now not be documented on my strava. On the right back - beep - it found something - wow - it was working and i'd only lost most of the ride. Since it was working i turned around and headed back into the new forest to see what it could do. The speed display now showed my speed and you could scroll through and see average and max details. After the ride i synced from the device to my phone using the xoss app and it automatically synced to strava (obviously only showing the ride from when it found a signal). Since it took so long to find a signal its clearly no good for purpose - I want a device that i can turn on a use straight away. I boxed up and returned the device and deleted the xoss app - never to be installed again. My advice is either buy something of higher quality or just stick to using the strava app on your phone.

Accurate and easy to read, slow gps pickup
Size wise and readability are perfect for me, it's unobtrusive on the bike but easy enough to read.Connection to the app on my phone is OK, has glitched once or twice but not a big deal as a reboot always sorts it.Huge plus point is the strava integration, absolutely spot on and tested against my phone and the information is identical. My only gripe is the time it takes to secure a gps signal, there have been a few occasions where I've turned it on and ridden away almost immediately, travelled up to a mile before its gps locked and that's resulted in a large part of the ride missing. Now I turn unit on, start and pause the recording straight away and have to stay still for anything up to a thirty seconds before it locks on at which point I unpause and go.If I don't pause the recording, it can take a few minutes to get the signal!
