Does anyone know how closely this compares to Hard Times Cafe (Wash. D.C. area) Cincinnati chili?

The main difference is that Hard Times uses meat that is prr-browned. To make the chili with this packet, you just put the meat, seasoning, and tomato paste in a pot with water and let the meat cook as it simmers.

What is the best way to make this recipe in the crock pot?

I have made it in the crock pot using the same recipe on the package. But I like my chili thick so add a half pound more meat.

Is the cincinnati chili seasoning packet made by skyline? or does skyline sell their own seasoning packets?

This is not made by Skyline Chili, but a company called "Skytime". I actually like it as well or better than actual Skyline chili. I don't think that Skyline makes a mix packet, but I know Gold Star does.

Hi! Excellent question! I've always found it best to go straight to the source. That being said, here's what I found out. https://www.skylinechili.com/ is the manufacture's website. It's pretty cool, but I don't even see the packets for Regular recipe under GROCERY tab, let alone a reduced sodium version. However, I did call them, 800-443-4371, and was told that the person to ask is Tammy. They transferred my call and I left a message with your question and my number. If I get a response, I will post it here. Additionally, you could call. enter the first 3 letters "TAM" when prompted, and either speak to her directly or leave a message. Hope this helps!
