I was initially unable to pair the light to my phone because my router emits a 2.4GHz and 5.0Ghz frequency and I cannot change it to allow my phone to use 2.4GHz. Some phones will allow you to do this. Mine will not. In order to be able to use these lights if your phone cannot be set to 2.4GHz you will have to:1. put your phone in Airplane Mode2. Turn on wifi3. Walk away from your router until the wifi signal is lost4. Turn back and slowly walk back toward your router. Since the 2.4GHz signal will extend further than the 5GHZ your phone will connect to the 2.4GHz. You can now connect to Globe app.After looking online I see that a lot of people have this problem. The solution should be included in the instructions.It took me hours to find a solution. However, once I did the lights are very nice. The one thing I do not like is that I cannot use a wall dimmer switch. This would be better as I do not always want to use my phone to dim lights.

Beautiful lights with vibrant color. App allows you to set various colors and time-based actions easily.However, connecting the lights to the app was painful. I have a lot of these lights installed, and I need to turn the switch on and off every few seconds for a few hours in order to get the app to register ALL the lights at the SAME time. Otherwise, I need to turn the switch on and off a few times again to reset it. This is not an issue if you only have a couple of recessed lights. However, if you have a lot of these lights, it's going to be tough to connect them to the app.

I ordered 14 of these to install in the bedroom, kitchen, and breakfast areas to replace some smaller 4" LED can lights that we didn't like/weren't bright enough. We liked the option with these to be able to change the temperature of the white light and they were plenty bright. The color changing effect was not necessary but an added feature we wanted to try out. The app seems pretty good. Aside from just changing the color or temperature of the white light, the are themes you can customize, all light shades are dimmable through the app, and you can even set schedules, timers, etc.Once the lights are paired with the app, you can group them together to control at the same time or just continue to use your wall switch as always. Of the 14 installed, we seemed to have issues with 4 of them. 1 of them seemed to have a defect with the LED bulb and wouldn't match any of the other lights shades (white or colors). 3 of the 4 had wifi or connectivity issues with the app and or wifi. I was able to connect all them but when I would go to control them as a group or individually, they would not respond at all or at a different delay than the rest.So overall, I really like them and the controls/features are endless for something you traditionally just turn on/off but would like to see better manufacturing so quantity of defects are minimized. I have had them installed for 3 days and am waiting on the 4 replacement fixtures.

Purchased one light to go in our new bathroom above the toilet. I love how you can adjust the colors via the app. The “white” range of colors of the light is very bright but when you start going into the different colors it gets a little duller in brightness. If I had more than one light the brightness would have increased, as I feel you need several when you want to change the color to purple/green/blue for it to have any significant results. Still a great purchase and the app works fine. Was easy to set up. A few examples in the pics of colors. Would buy more.

Tasmota made it awesome. Mine was using the newer firmware which doesn't work with the easy OTA tools. I drilled a small hole in the "can" just above the lens so that I could push it out and then it was the typical serial wire stuff. A fair bit of work for the result but it seems to be the state of things for now.

One of my COVID projects was to re-do our little movie theater in our home. New paint, screen, projector and the last step was to add some smart lights to allow for a real movie theater experience. After some searching I came across Globe and decided they were the right choice. I ordered 6 lights and they came very quickly. I did run into a problem where only 5 of the 6 were working. I contacted Globe and after trying some potential fixes it was determined that a new unit was needed. Globe turned that around in about a week and the new light works perfectly! This is a great product backed by great customer support!

Easy to set up with their app. Fun to have as a novelty but great lights and functionality too. Bought 18 of them and have 13 up so far. We love theses!

These lamps are so cool and they bring showering or taking a bath to a whole new level. Great. I had small issues with connecting them to the app but nothing that cannot be solved easily. App is very easy to use. Really great, rich colors and great white light lamps.

The quality of these retrofitted lights are ok, the metal trim is very thin and the body of the light is oddly light. The software is where the worst of these lights shine. Every time you flip your light switch off (even by accident) the lights disconnect from the app and require a reconnection which is a lengthy process. The lights get very hot compared to other 10w and even 12w lights I own. Besides this, the lights are very bright and if you're ok living these issues these great value lights are right for you. All in all, I personally would not recommend them and think it would be worth the extra price for higher end Globe lights or even the Philips Hue Recessed Lights.

Very bad product. I made three holes in my ceiling to show off my smart lights, but unfortunately they are not smart at all. Finally after two changes of lights and trying several times to disconnect them and connect them again to my WI-FI network I have decided to request the return of my money and return the product. Unfortunately they were not what I expected, they get offline from the network at any moment, they turn on by themselves all day and all night without doing anything in the application, so I got tired of running around for 2 weeks turning off lights that turn on by themselves and waiting minutes for lights to come back online.

I bought a few of these units and they are the best 4” retrofit kit on the market.Pro’s- Smart bulb which works with google assistant, nest and Alexa-can change bulb color to any color or the spectrum- super easy install, slides right in with clips- solid sturdy build and looks amazing- excellent light limitation and light Angle projectionsCon’s- NONE- Wish it was a bit cheaper

I am a designer and just completed a bathroom renovation at my home. I wanted to create a spa-like atmosphere. I was searching for a recessed light that not only had white light and varying shades of white from bright to warm but also ones that changed colour and wet rated for the bathroom. Voila! I found these lights. FYI this next bit of information is VERY important when you are considering buying these lights. First off - they are set up through your Wi-Fi. You MUST be able to access a 2.4gz not 5gz setting on your wi-fi or you will go crazy trying to set these up, however, once you do it is really simple. You simply download the Globe Electric app on your phone and follow the prompts. It takes a couple minutes to be up and running. You can even pair it with your Google home for voice activation as well. So.... to getting back to my spa bathroom.... These lights work perfectly. I had 4 of these lights installed...two over the tub, one above the toilet, one above the vanity. What I love the most is that each light can be activated individually. Example... to create a relaxing bath mood...I switch off the toilet and vanity lights and change the two above the tub to a beautiful magenta/purple colour. Now you have a truly relaxing chromotherapy experience. You can also set pre-set scenes. The app allows you to dim, change the rainbow of light colours or the intensity of the white light. So brilliant! I forgot to mention that the actual light is LED = energy saving and the fixture is very very slim profile, making it easy to install in all construction settings.

This is the worst smart product I have ever owned. lights are horrible and not smart at all. They constantly disconnected and go into pair mode, which means they flash on and off repeatedly. This is very annoying for family and guests if I am not at home to trouble shoot the lights. Even the neighbors asked why are lots are always flashing in our house. Do not buy as you will just end up with a box of useless lights like me. I tried contacted Globe for support, but they are helpful or seem to care at all.
