Practice aim first on paper!
This is great. Pretty pricey for my single time use on my 6yo though. I followed all sanitary precautions and used numbing cream, ice and childrens pain meds 30min before.I also wiped it down with alcohol before I began as the packaging was slightly flimsy/ sketchy as others have mentioned (appeared DIY heat film sealed not sealed with a machine like from a factory and possibly resealed although I should hope not as that would be a major health concern). My main advice: I recommend taking your time after making the mark to observe thatās where you really want the earring and both are even before piercing. I practiced ten times on a card first to aim placement and watched online videos. In the end I realized one was slightly too high and am kicking myself but it was my fault in marking, NOT in aiming and itās really not very noticeable and my daughter is happy. Also be sure to read the leaflet front to back including troubleshooting before you begin! This saved me when I must have accidentally tipped the gun and the backing fell out so I had to fumble around with one free hand while the other held the gun to the ear to refill and manually clip the backing with the gun and gentle trigger method indicated. I so wished another set of hands was there to help me unpack a new set and load one-handed (in the end two additional sets of earrings wasted but we had bo use for them anyway). Then, apparently that backing wasnāt clipped securely enough either (make sure it clicks!) which ended in tears moments later at lunch when the backing fell off and the piercing came out halfway as it got caught on her hair and it resulted in screams and crying but I calmly reloaded, pushed the earring back through with gloved hands, reloaded the gun with a new backing, used the gentle manual gun click method and itās now been in for weeks, no infections or anything.I highly recommend saltwater piercing care spray 3x/day. I didnāt even need any of the ointment swabs I purchased. I also do not rotate the piercing.Be aware not to do this in summer months as you canāt swim for at least six weeks while it heals. We did this in Feb. Also warn a child they canāt wear fun styles right away. I would also never try this on anything other than a lobe if you arenāt licensed as it seems risky and would go to a proper tatoo place.Iāve locked this away as my daughter can be impulsive and would recommend not allowing kids or teens access to it if you use this at home, as with anything with needles or sharp edges. Not sure what Iām going to do with this as I have no use for it now and I wouldnāt feel right reselling it for health reasons.I was five when a popular mall shop pierced my ears with a similar gun but these days many people advise against multi use shared guns and I would agree. Single use seems much safer.

Practice, use the circular earrings
Great diy kit. My tips: watch their training videos on the studex website. get a squirt bottle and fill it with salt water (I just dissolve salt in boiling water and let it cool) and use that to flush the piercing a few times a day and wiggle(over a cup or sink) . I have best luck with that. Youāll get salt buildup, but it can be cleaned off. Donāt go swimming for 2 months. PRACTICE draw some dots on cardstock and just reuse one earring practicing. Mine is very consistent but a little lower than I had expected. Use the rounded studex to pierce. Shaped ones fall out of the gun if you tip it, so consider piercing with rounded and then switching to a shaped piercing stud. Consider giving tiny ones ibprofen first or be prepared to let them wait a day to do the second. Older kids have done fine with no painkiller.Pros: quality surgical steel earrings (they heal best, trust me) with for when one gets lost (they lock tight, but we snagged one). Consistent aim, never jams. Cons- mine pierces about 1 mm low BUT CONSISTENTLY And predictably. Not a fan of the gel afterpierce care. It dries on like a film you have to peel off. Wish it were all surgical steel and not gold plated since gold Is softer and more prone to scratching which can supposedly then create a home for bacteria. Overall, itās simple, and remember some kids cry having theirs professionally done, some donāt and even piercings done at the mall or tattoo shop can get infected (soooo many stories). Itās an open wound so take care of it. If it snags on a shirt or hairbrush, you may get a little blood. Iāve done 4 so far (2 mine, 2 a neighbors) without major issues and weāve saved a lot of cash and have had no major issues. Just a girl who went swimming and we had to take the earring out and clean it a few times (I used liquid silver) because it was starting to look infected and eventually swapped her gold one for a surgical steal and it healed up fast.

MY BEST BUY TO THIS DAY! I ⤠IT!
šš Well I like EVERYTHING about this ear piercing gun! The gun has a little weght to it. Its a very dense plastic that feels good! The trigger is easy to pull. The trigger does double duty. As you pull it back it compresses your lobe slightly then if you keep pulling it back will cause the spring loaded mechanism to push the plunger to install the earring.A small back-story....When I was in high school I pierced my left ear with a very large sewing needle! THERE WAS BLOOD EVERYWHERE! I just about passed out several times but I pushed on. And managed to pierce only one ear. LOL! I was so horrified that I couldnt bear to do the right ear.So as I got older, I decided that having only 1 ear pierced wasnst cool anymore. So I decided that I would buy an ear piercing gun to repierce my ears THE RIGHT WAY!So thats why I bought this kit!Its literally taken me less tban 5 minutes to pierce my ears once I learned how to operate the gun.Its taken me longer to write this review that it took to pierce both ears! Im gonna wait a month and then Ill start the process of stretching my holes for some 14-00 gauge earrings. Thatll be fun! šš¤

Highly recommended
I love the quality of this piercing gun. I have never used one before and was able to pierce my daughters nose with ease and no pain. This kit had everything I needed and the instructions were very easy to follow. There were definitely cheaper kits out there but the quality and durability of this piercing gun was by far the best i came across. I was scared to buy a cheaper one because they didnt look structurally stable and i was afraid it would cause me to hurt my daughter when piercing. This gun was everything i hoped for and more.I highly recommend this piercing gun kit.
