AWHA Souwester, Rain Hat - Waterproof Cap with Wide Brim and Earflaps

Bought this to go with my yellow rain mac, it’s just the ticket. Made of 100% polyester rather than oilskin, making it softer and cosier. Brilliantly designed with wide brim that’s longer at the back to keep rain off your neck and ear flaps to keep out the wind. The inside is lined with a thin, soft fleece which doesn’t add bulk but is lovely and cosy, even the ear flaps are fleece lined. The stitching on the hat really is beautifully done, is very decorative and it’s completely waterproof even in the wildest weather. I’ve got a fairly standard sized head and it fits beautifully. There is a ribbon and toggle which keeps the hat very firmly in place, but as another reviewer mentioned the ribbon really is too wide for the toggle so it’s a bit difficult to adjust but once it’s on it really is budge proof. It’s not the cheapest out there, but it’s very fairly priced considering the quality, well worth the investment and should last a lifetime.

Perfect for the recent heavy rain and wind. I look a bit like Captain Birdseye's sister, but who cares. Anyone out in heavy weather like that is not watching me.The toggle to tighten up the neck strap is tight to move but with a bit of effort it can be done.The ear flaps are good to keep warm too.I have to take my dog out whatever it's doing outside so this is an ideal accessory.

Love the hat. The ribbon cord is fiddly as can get stuck until turn it widthways but otherwise I love the look. No rain to test it yet in this heatwave but will wear it nd enjoy.

Well made and comfortable and completely waterproof in the heaviest rain.
